Mr Leg how is Briefed's hammy

Appears to be fine. Guess it was track too hard and second up from a spell which is usually his poorest run.

Banoffee is a delicacy in Scotland.

Runs a close second to deep fried Mars bars.

Redleg I think you will have a very heavy track at Seymour. (oops! just checked abandoned)

Does anyone know a reliable Handyman looking for work?. (sounds a bit oxymoronish)

Tradies have been letting me down for months.

Congratulations on getting this thread to 200 pages Redleg.

As one of the moderators on Demonland, I think our decision to allow it to go beyond the second or third page would be, without doubt, the greatest blunder we've made on the site but now that the damage has been done, please continue ...

Good decision Jack. It's a bye for the Dees this weekend, and consequently my first visit to this thread since 13 Feb. Perhaps I should be spending more of my time here ...... it's considerably less depressing.

With all due respect, WJ, please keep making blunders like this one!

I want to say Hi again

Drop in more often Deeoldfart it is the only thread on demonland these days that gives a reason to log in.

You can have a discussion here that generally does not lead to personal attack.

I always admire someone who can admit their mistakes WJ

Oh hang on I just re read ...................

Well 200 pages a Tribute to a little common sense in the crazy world of the MFC.

Who would have thought in July 2011 we would reach this lofty height.

Among many things a tribute to a simple fruit and common sense.

Thanks everyone this thread has kept me sane through some very ordinary times.

I look forward to the 300th page

Good advice I'm sure old dee. Maybe a few of us should have listened more closely to your sage words before the start of the season, .......................... but we shouldn't go down that path now, it could ruin the fabric of this thread, or the thread of this fabric, or something (??).

Absolutley no joy for me mate.

Fortunately there are other things in the world.

Think I'm going to have to change my name to Fossil Dee just to fit in.

I certainly feel all warm and fuzzy when I enter the thread. Maybe it is due to the aroma of bananas.

Can't believe that on the last two abandoned meetings, I have had a runner each time. Seymour now transferred to saturday.

I certainly feel all warm and fuzzy when I enter the thread. Maybe it is due to the aroma of bananas.

And the warm feeling of friendship.

I had what may be the best Pineapple I have ever eaten in Bangkok.

Lovely and cold from a street cart.

It was sitting on ice and they sell it to you cut in pieces in a plastic bag.

Also provide a small bag of sugar and chilli.

dip the pineapple in the sugar mixture.

Sounds strange but works really well.

yep...and yummm :)))

Glad the new teeth are working well OD.

Crunch into a few of those fried crickets if you get the chance-bloody tasty with a beer.

Have heard plenty of comment on these Biff but have not seen any!

I had them offered to me at a roadside stall in Malaysia. I politely declined (although they did look crunchy) and stuck to the warm beer.

Now this is reducing the tenor of the thread but I am told you see them the next day in the loo Bbo!

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • PREGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
