June 17, 201213 yr Old dee, I just think we need to go beyond the banana fritters and the like. This thread started as a distraction at a time when everyone was going bananas at the thought of Voldemort jumping ship. Once we've played GWS and hopefully given them a shellacking, what purpose is it going to serve? Quite obviously your mind is made up. So have a nice night WJ
June 17, 201213 yr This is Demonlands Seinfeld thread.......its all about nothing...and celebrates it. Makes a change from us thinking a thread is about something but really isnt

June 17, 201213 yr This is Demonlands Seinfeld thread.......its all about nothing...and celebrates it. Makes a change from us thinking a thread is about something but really isnt Well. One could argue it is after all about something. In this thread we can identify the fluctuations on banana prices and keep a good track record of Redleg's track runners. Oh and there's a countdown clock somewhere showing the time to this years National Draft...importance personified. Other than that, yeah it's tracking a la Seinfeld. But in this case there's no B$ ! Apparently.
June 18, 201213 yr I like the banter here but I reckon it does the board a disservice because Redleg's observations - often thought-provoking - end up here rather than in the relevant thread. My 0.2 cents
June 18, 201213 yr Surely, there has to be some closure from this whole T$ thing at some stage? What better time than after the GW$ game when we get the chance to see him in the flesh in that ghastly orange garb? How about we extend the olive branch WJ, and instead of closing it, move it to general discussion, where it can continue on its merry way. It fits under 'general discussion' after all, given the nature of its content. And if Redleg wants it re-named or have the T$ taken out, we can make do ?? Si ?

June 18, 201213 yr Nice dc. I don't honestly see trying to find a middle ground and satisfy all, being a killjoy or a sourpuss. Do you dc ?
June 18, 201213 yr Nice dc. I don't honestly see trying to find a middle ground and satisfy all, being a killjoy or a sourpuss. Do you dc ? that's a socialistic politically correct response HT if it aint broke don't fiddle with it
June 18, 201213 yr that's a socialistic politically correct response HT if it aint broke don't fiddle with it I'm not suggesting it's broke, I'm suggesting to keep the thread alive.
June 18, 201213 yr I'm not suggesting it's broke, I'm suggesting to keep the thread alive. moving it to the general board will be like putting it into an iron lung on life support or, like sending your kids to Junior Boarding School Edited June 18, 201213 yr by daisycutter
June 18, 201213 yr Why don't you 'pin' it? No-one looks there and there are always around the 3 or 4 threads up there.
June 18, 201213 yr moving it to the general board will be like putting it into an iron lung on life support or, like sending your kids to Junior Boarding School Inclined to agree there, too many timble weeds I suppose. Unless we merged sports and general boards.....food for thought anyway.
June 18, 201213 yr Inclined to agree there, too many timble weeds I suppose. Unless we merged sports and general boards.....food for thought anyway. and get rid of the Wool Shed er Locker Room....................
June 18, 201213 yr Why don't you 'pin' it? No-one looks there and there are always around the 3 or 4 threads up there. That's an option.
June 18, 201213 yr and get rid of the Wool Shed er Locker Room.................... That's currently under review dc. Awaiting a consensus of sorts.
June 18, 201213 yr I think that during these dark days at the MFC it is very sad that the site cannot afford one thread that is light hearted and does not take itself seriously. We have a multitude of threads with people at each others throats.
June 18, 201213 yr That's currently under review dc. Awaiting a consensus of sorts. that's good....it was always a bit of a BP type gamble anyway
June 18, 201213 yr I think that during these dark days at the MFC it is very sad that the site cannot afford one thread that is light hearted and does not take itself seriously. We have a multitude of threads with people at each others throats. Hey, I like bananas ..
June 18, 201213 yr Author I think that during these dark days at the MFC it is very sad that the site cannot afford one thread that is light hearted and does not take itself seriously. We have a multitude of threads with people at each others throats. You have won me. I am with you 100%.
June 18, 201213 yr Author Hey, I like bananas .. If it helps, I can start a discussion about which other fruit the players like. I believe Watts likes cherries.
June 18, 201213 yr Author On another note , it never fails to amaze me how often we draft a player and then he is out for most of his first or second season. Just some examples recently Taggart, Gawn, Evans, Gysberts, Tapscott, Cook, Jurrah, Fitzpatrick, Spencer, Tynan etc. Edited June 18, 201213 yr by Redleg

Just some examples recently Taggart, Gawn, Evans, Gysberts, Tapscott, Cook, Jurrah, Fitzpatrick, Spencer, Tynan etc. Yes it seems we do not have much luck. I seem to remember that a couple of those we drafted knowing they would be out their first year. Gawn and Fitzpatrick I think. I do not take a lot of interest in the fortunes of draftees at other clubs Redleg So I do not know if we are poor by comparsion or not. but like you I think we seem to have a lot of bad luck with these guys. PS you could have added Grimes to that list
