not sure if anyone saw this interview with Jaspit Bumrah yesterday after the match?

"A lot of experience and learnings. A lot of the younger players have come in, and the learnings will help us in future. They have gained a lot of experience and they will go from strength to strength. It is all about adapting and learning. We will want to take the learnings forward."

Sounded very similar to some MFC post game press conferences

We were lucky he got injured.

That’s a bit unfair OD.

The kid is a very talented, modern day player, who goes for it, not a stoic, Boycott type, who can bat all day.

His start set up the win, because it threw the Indians, with about 35 runs off the first 3 overs. Then of course he throws away his wicket, but then again so did Marnus and Smith who are far more experienced.

Imo he is not an opener at this stage and that is on the selectors in a way.

He needs to be coached to temper his enthusiasm if he opens. Flair is fantastic but your wicket should be taken away from you, not handed over.

On another note, I have never seen an innings like his first, from a debutant, let alone one opening the batting.

You see it every year in 20/20…

Im an old school junior cricket coach and technique is being sacrificed for excitement. Doesn’t seem to matter as every country has fallen under the spell; but test cricket will eat this kid alive unless he respects a solid technique and knows his limitations.

Agree with that.

He has the tools, he needs to learn how to use them in test cricket.

Great debut by the older Beau as well.

Spot on rpfc. So far one reasonable innings and 3 poor ones.

Congrats Tom and Ruby McDonald and kids on new family member Hildie.

Just walked past Tom concentrating hard and holding a very small bundle with Ruby following behind with a pram and blond kids in Fitzroy this afternoon. Odd I didn’t pick up it was him until I was right next to him. Usually these tall AFL athletes stand out from streets away. He certainly has slimmed down.

I was walking the dog yesterday and Kate Hore walked past me. She is a bit taller than I thought she was.

Still walking the dog, but no more sightings of Kate Hore.

She was going into a gym and everyone time I pass it, I look around to see if she is there.

Maybe she is just hiding from an old stalker.

What sort Mr. Leg? My grand daughter wants a dog. I said what sort? Rottweiler! No chance of a dog says my daughter, after the first month she won't walk or pick up the [censored]. Rottweiler less than zero if it is possible to have negative chance.  What a perfect day! 28 deg slight breeze and not a cloud in the sky. I am sitting on the veranda looking at kids across the road in the park and sipping on a G and T. Life is near perfect this afternoon.

Ahhh sweet, loyal, neurotic dogs that love to spy on their owners!

My parents have two, and they peek around corners to watch the family or look on high from the stairs landing at all of us in the kitchen haha

Might be a Tom McDonald thing. Once ypon a time I was at a cafe at one of those fashionable giant semi-communal tables and Tom was sitting opposite me the entire I leafed through the football news and checked demonland on my phone. I was even wearing the scarf. He enjoyed the double-take when I finally twigged as I was getting up.

That's hilarious!

I did something similar once with Wil Anderson at airport security. Was literally listening to the Wilosophy podcast while in line.  Security guard and Wil both complimented my socks when I went through the scanner.  I turned round, finally clocked him and blurted out "Thank you, Wil Anderson" and ran off haha

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
