For probably the first time this year, i dont care about the Casey game much at all. Most of the kids who i wanted to see play, are now playing in our senior side. However, Trevor Barker Oval is nearby and two mates of mine are playing for Sandy so i might get down.

Clearly you've forgotten about Blease! ;)

Interesting McNamara is listed on the ball. Haven't seen any casey games while he's been playing in that role. Anyone have any reports about his progress?

He played midfield for Casey seconds and did well (30-odd possessions and some goals). I think he's played midfield since he returned to the senior side recently, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

True. I'm excited about McDonald too - although i'd prefer to see Garland back. I wont be too concerned/upset if we dont see Cooky until next year... just want him to get to seasons end completely healthy, then lock him and Morton in the gym weights room.

He played in the midfield last weekend, got towelled up, and had a crack and someone, gave away a 50m penalty which resulted in a goal, right when we were on top

Dean Bailey has consistently stated he wants players to be versatile

Tommy Mac has had a couple of years wrecked with injury, he is/was a tall back, but he also has good hands and a good footy brain, trying him in the midfield, he isn't doing too bad for three games in there....

...if it works we end up with a large midfielder who is good in the stoppages a la Jobe Watson who for a couple of years as he learned the craft wasn't much chop.......but look at him now.....

at least we are trying things, follow Casey quite closely, so we have had Blease at the back learning how to defend now he is in the middle, and we are moving Tom McDonald, Troy Davis and Lucas Cook around, if they get towelled up occasionally I can live with that.....

And Kelvin Lawrence is this week's mystery injured player.

Not a mystery, just missing from the injury list. Went out of the game early last week, was in the Casey match report and widely mentioned here on Demonland. Nothing serious.

A strong north wind affected the reserves game and will have an influence on the main game.

Sandy has plenty of Saints including early draft picks in their lineup.

Scorps got up to win the Ressies by 26 points after being down at half time. A slashing third quarter saw them into the lead at the last break. A six goal last quarter saw them coast home.

Spoke to Kelvin after game last week, told me it was a quad and maybe a week out

2024 Player Reviews: #8 Jake Lever

The Demon’s key defender and backline leader had his share of injuries and niggles throughout the season which prevented him from performing at his peak.  Date of Birth: 5 March 1996 Height: 195cm Games MFC 2024: 18 Career Total: 178 Goals MFC 2024: 1 Career Total: 5

2024 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

2024 Player Reviews: #5 Christian Petracca

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level.
