Sub against West Coast?

Gotta go with legspeed/endurance. we saw how effective it was for the Swans on such a large ground.

Morton or give young Blease his first game. I know a lot will question the use of Blease as a sub as intro to footy, however based on the Casey game, I reckon he or Petterd deserve a crack.

Maybe Ricky in for Watts (go play Casey and find some hunger) and then perhaps Blease in for Barty. I love Bartram but he's been down this season. It's a good thing if we're keeping guys on notice.

Thoughts for sub?

Bennell for mine. Has limited impact on games overall so far, but his electrifying pace would be an asset in the last 40 minutes, especially if its warm over there and fatigue/fitness is a factor.

Agree. Perfect sub.

Agreed, no change, Bennell the sub.

Watts will relish the wide open spaces of Subi IMO.

Exactly the points I made last night.

Bennell is very much a burst player anyway. He is the perfect sub prototype in that you can throw him down back, in the middle or up forward and watch him burn the track.

Having just watched the replay of the last quarter (gotta love being on holidays!), Watts did a few very good things and he just has to keep playing.

Dunn on the other hand was pretty poor. Made some poor kicking decisions and didn't go hard enough when required.

I'd bring in Petterd for some fresh legs and I think he too would relish the wide spaces.

i think the sub shouldnt be seen as a tactic, but should be given to the 22nd best player in the 22.

Watts can be sub for another week IMO

Bennell has sub written all over him. He's almost the perfect sub.

Next week it's all about run. Subi's nice and big and really should suit are not yet hardened team

Would not drop Bartram. Thought he was good yesterday. Especially early on.

Bennell would be my pick also for the sub. I also really want to see Petterd back in the side but not sure who for.

I think Dunn has still done enough to keep his spot.

It's not easy. That's the reason it's so controversial some of the time... Sometimes there's no clear player that deserves to be dropped. And it's just the fact you're quiet that means you play only a 3rd or a 1/4 of a game... I reckon though that in 6 or so rounds a LOT of players would have had their turn as the sub, and can still consider themselves lucky to have played at all.

Barty is pretty underrated, at one stage yesterday, because of a teammate's mistake, he was totally under siege by several opponents and fought his way out of what would have been a certain goal, it was fantastic stuff

Chris Scott and Brett Ratten have said emphatically that the sub is not the 22nd player in the 22 but awarded tactically to player who is ideally an impact player whose selection will depend tactically on who you are playing and where you are playing at. Its ideally a position to be revolved. Watts wont improve by spending too much time on the pine.

He is certainly one that has no hesitation in backing back into a pack whilst eyes only for the ball, and in most instances knows he is going to get crunched. He did it at least three times yesterday.

didnt question his courage or committment. seeing who would be first to go.

bennell sub seems very ideal. he is that burst player, but its whether they see him as a sub or not because he also suprisingly has great endurance.

I was talking about this with my brother, I think the sub should be an avenue for someone who performed at VFL level and deserves a call up, and we should flat out drop someone who didn't play well and give him a FULL game at VFL to get some form. I would rather Watts play at Casey last week than have him as a sub.

I'll go with Petterd to be the sub, Dunn dropped and Watts to play a lead up forward role.

Bennell or Jones would be my choice for next week's sub.

Not Jones - he was saved by yesterday's effort. 2 or 3 blinding kicks that hit targets from 50.

Bennell, on the other hand....half the time I'm not sure if he's playing or not, then he does something mercurial. A real enigma.

Watts :P

Although I'd love for Watts to again be the better out of himself and Nik Nat during a game!

Warnock in...Grimes sub

We face Lynch, Kennedy, Embley - big buggers!!

i'd go Bleeze for Bartrum and Pettard for Bennel, with Pettard sub

Frawley, Garland and Rivers can look after them, with Martin and Morton as back ups

It's amazing we have so many players that love the wide open spaces, we must be shoo-ins.

I thought Petterd was the best performing sub, so give the spot to him.

Bennell or Dunn out, both pretty lousy this year.

I've never heard of 'Bleeze' 'Batrum' 'Pettard' or 'Bennel'? Who are these guys?

Still doesnt change MY OPINION on the role!
