I stress I thought Brucey was a good bloke, he did celebrate every goal, and every time he ran out for Melbourne he bleed for the Dees. But that aside, he now plays for Hawthorn and therefore it doesn't matter how many loyal games he played.. he's just another hawthorn player.

Fair enough. I didn't hold back having something to say when Franklin was caught by Davey not far from where I was seated. Me and thousands of others....

Apart from the handball to the guy's ankles - Bruce was lucky to the 1-2 worked out.

In soccer it is customary for a player who has given years of service to a particular club not to rub it back in their faces with wild gesticulations when he scores a goal against them in new colours. Not sure if that applies to other sports or AFL football but I think it's a noble and sportsmanlike ideal, especially for players who have been treated very well and handsomely rewarded over the course of their careers.

Bruce's grinning fist pump at the MCC wing was very noticeable yesterday after he snapped a goal during their third quarter run on. Kind of sad for a 200+ game veteran of our club.

Only thing I was disappointed about was that Tapscott didn't get the chance to lay him out at any point in the game.

He always celebrated his goals with great gusto and enthusiasm. I saw his gesture on Sunday as a celebration of a much needed Hawthorn goal and possibly a pointed 'that will teach you for not wanting me!" directed at Bailey, Connolly and the other members of the MFC football department.

Bruce's first goal where he so soccered the ball from half back and ran into the forward line taking two hand passes in the process then slotted it from about 40 meters was a game breaker for me. It put the hawks within a kick or so early in the third quarter and set the Hawks alight. CB had a perfect right to celebrate. Probably reminded him of several similar goals he had kicked for the Dees. Up until then he had had a very ordinary game, but had a lot better second half. If he had not picked up his game on Sunday he would have been in danger of being dropped given his very poor first up showing for the Hawks.

Was it us loyal fans that gave him a bronx cheer when it looked like he kicked it on the full from the centre to the southern stand wing, only to find that it hit a Hawks player on the [censored]? I only heard it on TV, and made the same cheer, until the camera showed a Hawk mark! I had the sound up really loud, so unless it was the Hawthorn supporters cheering such a well directed miss-kick, it may have been some signal interference coming from the Bald [censored] Transmitter (Brisbane, not Bruce).

MFC supporters have no reason to dislike Bruce - we are the ones who got rid of him and he wanted to continue playing with us. The man has a right to make a living, so he decided to continue for another team. If there is anything that he has done wrong then please enlighten me.

Really, Bruce playing for Hawthorn should result in a win-win to both sides. Our up & coming youth such as Trengrove, Trapscott, etc should be able to cover for the viod that Cam is leaving, and hopefully he should be able to contribute to the HFC.

na i dont care about the money that he is getting. its that he didnt try and get the club anything for him. even judd said he wanted to come home but not unless the eagles were given some good compensation, ie draft picks. thats what really annoys me.
