Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Looks like PJ will be picked up by the Hawks after all. Wish him well. He has always had the perfect body shape, however never worked out how to use it properly. Daniher summed him up pretty well when we got him from West Coast - 'He's a big lump of a lad, when he finally works out how big he actually is he'll be a good footballer' (or something like that!) Pity he had so many injuries. Hopefully he can put it together and do well (just not against us!)

HA!

Yeah. He'll get a run of their ruckman all get hurt AGAIN. And in a decent side, he'll go alright, though he's really just a worst case scenario measure... Renouf and Bailey will be given games before him at every chance.

It just proves how much better it is to be tall! So many average players get a game purely for the fact that they are taller or bigger and you need to have bigger players with some degree of athletic ability.

I cant see him playing well too often, may get a game and do his usual stuff. Try hard at times, look agile for a big man, drop easy marks, be pushed off by small players and get less than 5 touches a game. He will not be missed.

Loved PJ, followed him from juniors and always thought he had something. Last couple of years with us were particularly poor, and he never really delivered on the 'potential' some of us saw early on... But good luck to him.

I hope he gives it a red hot crack and does well, hopefully just not against us. And FWIW, i rate him better than Renouf, and jury is still out on whether Max Bailey's knees will hold up. PJ should play some games, no doubt.

Not with our list of ruckmen... we have 3 youngsters who we're going to want to test out. Spencer, Gawn, Fitz... and even Martin qualifies.

What's the old saying? A midfielder has 5 minutes to impress his coach. A ruckman gets 5 years...

Plenty of guys hung around and only started playing well in their late 20s, after doing nothing before. PJ just needs to be in a side where they don't rely on him for anything other than a big engine and pretty kicking action. He won't do much, but good on him... his problem was never application.

I hope he goes well.

Whatever deficiencies he had, one thing could never be challenged.....his persistence. He tried his best for our Club.

I'll never forget an Anzac Day in Sydney when he dived to knock the ball out when we desperately needed it. He did his shoulder and missed the rest of the sesaon. He got a couple of good goals in that great win, too. Perhaps his career would have taken a different path if he hadn't injured himself that day.

Remember when he ran down that Brisbane small man in that great win on the MCG?

Good Luck, Paul!

Guess I'm in the minority, I thought he would/should have been retained and was sorry to see him go.

Good luck PJ.

I'm probably in this camp, but as soon as someone puts on a Demons jumper I like them and never want to see them go.

Hawks need a backup ruck.

Dappa, I believe it's that a midfielder has 5 minutes to show that he has what it takes, while a tall has 5 years to show that he doesn't.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
