Snuck away from disneyland for a half hour n went to the espnzone... 120 tvs showing all different games. Watched the last 5 minutes of the falcons game, huge miss from the panthers for the 46 yard field goal, we got out of jail been 16-3 up. Can not believe we are on top of the NFC south thought our season was completely shot!

Awesome - enjoy! I have a fair infatuation with disneyland (as evidenced by the profile pic) and on a visit in 2010 headed straight from LAX to the ESPN Zone at Downtown Disney to watch the Chiefs claim a playoff spot. I've been to a few different ESPN Zones but the one in Anaheim is the last remaining. Safe travels.

Georgiou mentioned the any given Sunday factor. I was loving that almost every single game yesterday had huge playoff ramifications. Makes for great viewing.

Vikes lose and deserved to lose. I can't pick a winner but I was on the Rodgers mvp bandwagon very early. He should take next week off to prepare for the pats. Well the Rams keep getting upset wins which is great to see. Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on in Washington? RG3 is skating on very thin ice at the moment. A few choice words in a press conference don't help either.

RG3 needs to let his talents do the talking ... he's got ability but he tends to explain things too much in the media. Just do the business and win games is the best solution. Over thinking it maybe?

The Vikes need to just get these games into Bridgewater ... no player is guaranteed 30+ games but a rookie QB probably needs that amount of games before he's comfortable in the role.

Rg3 looks pretty lost out there he is constantly getting sacked. As for the vikes we have a lot to work on. Teddy can't find an open receiver and the receivers can't get open. AP just got suspended without pay for the year. He didn't really help his cause by not attending a meeting with goodell to discuss his counselling. It would be hypocritical of me to be up in arms about his suspension after being absolutely disgusted by ray rice and his initial punishment. AP did what he did and deserves his punishment.

When a team loses a franchise player from their offense (and it's best player) it's got to effect a team's season ... contrarily, even a good to average QB can be covered for quite easily sometimes and often a team may be better off if their QB gets injured. When a team is weak on defense it's often as a collective

I read somewhere yesterday that Stafford is 0/15 when facing teams on the road with a better than 500 record. A way to differentiate teams sometimes is to look for the teams that win games on the road against the good teams (or at least play well against the good teams on the road)

Both the Eagles and the 49ers have the best road records against good teams this year (so far) Both teams have only had 1 bad loss and both teams have had 4 tough road games (GB have had 3 bad losses on the road against quality opposition)

By contrast, New England have only had 2 tough road games and got smashed in one of them (KC) and in the other one they smashed the Colts - in their case it may not matter because they could end up as the no.1 seed in the AFC.

Road games are a good measuring stick. With that said how do you see your packers at the moment? It's hard to spot many weaknesses at the moment and if your playoff games are at home I don't see a NFC team putting up much of a fight at the moment.

Well I'm reasonably pleased but our run defense has been an issue for a lot of our games (we're currently ranked 29th) We're getting better but a good running team does present it's problems.

I honestly believe the whole NFC is up for grabs and it might come down to on the day - nearly all the contenders have a decent home field advantage so we'd have to at least win the division and get a 1 or 2 seed before I'd be thinking we can win the whole thing.

Even the Saints could win at least 1 playoff game if they win the NFC South and Atlanta might be tough at home as well if they win the division. At the moment I don't see a firm favourite in the NFC - Detroit should win at least 4 of their 6 remaining games and they also visit Lambeau in week 17. At the moment the Lions hold the tie-break over Green Bay in 3 areas.

It's a bit more clear cut in the AFC in my opinion - if New England get the 1 seed they'll be hard to stop - maybe Pittsburgh or Baltimore could go to New England and win but I have doubts about any other AFC team being able to win there.

Had we not thoroughly violated them earlier in the season I'd give us a very good chance, but if they see us in the playoffs they'll have a little extra incentive and I couldn't see us repeating the dose.

Yeah, it's just opinions though, pantaloons - if Detroit can somehow upset them this week then everything changes again. Who knows in this league ...

By the way, Reid has done fantastically well at KC - is that 7 wins from your last 8? He uses Smith very intelligently.

Prob with RG3 and to a lesser degree Kaper, is teams have people spying for them to run and if the hold the ball they are getting more pressure than normal.

Kaper has dealt with it better from what I've seen of RG3 he still tries to play as he did in his rookie year, he needs to adapt to the changing defences and play accordingly.

Yeah, since week 1 we've played really well. Smith plays an efficient, low risk game, which is backed up by Charles. We are able to maintain possession for long drives and score early, which takes the pressure off smith having to try too much with one of the league's worst WR groups.

I'm very nervous about tomorrow though. I know that might be irrational, it's just a feeling.

By the way, ESPN's playoff machine came out today! Good times. I feel a sense of calm now.

Would have liked to have seen the Lions @ Pats and Arizona @ Seattle games on 7mate ... however, all the TV games have playoff implications. And there's always 'RedZone' if you can access it. I can't get enough of it - it's frantic but brilliant.

Friday

12.30pm Kansas City (7/3) at Oakland (0/10) (ESPN)

Monday

5.00am - 11.30am RedZone (ESPN)

5.00am Cleveland (6/4) at Atlanta (4/6) (7mate)

8.30am Miami (6/4) at Denver (7/3) (7mate)

12.30pm Dallas (7/3) at NY Giants (3/7) (7mate & ESPN)

Tuesday

12.30pm Baltimore (6/4) at New Orleans (4/6) (ESPN)

I usually get 2 out of 3 in the comp so KC losing probably means that my other 2 tips will get up - Green Bay is one of those tips ^_^ (I'm still not optimistic though - how can you be in this League?)

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
