Colts what a joke - handed Pats the #1 pick too 🙄

Turned out to be the trap game

If the Falcons win their last 2 games and Seattle beat the Rams next week, Atlanta will end up as the 3rd seed in the NFC

So a lot riding on this match because if the Falcons lose today, they may not be in the playoffs at all!

Falcons lead 14-7 after that interception

Lions have nothing to play for tomorrow as they will still need to defeat the Vikings next week in order to win the NFC North (regardless of tomorrow's result)

Atlanta leading 17-7 against Washington at half time and if they can win today, they can wrap up the NFC South with a win at home against the Panthers next week

Falcons miss FG and into OT we go

Falcons will always Falcon… FFS

It’s a broken record but the regular season OT rule needs to changed… It’s a joke a team doesn’t have right of reply if the opposition wins the toss & scores first up. Yes I know there is the other side “defence need to hold up” but it doesn’t feel right…

Maybe in the old days you could say "D needs to hold up" but the game/rules are so heavily skewed to the offense these days it's unfair not to allow a team a possession.

It's just a rubbish rule and amateurish to be honest.  About as unfair as it gets and as Gonzo, mentioned, the sport is all geared towards scoring these days

Especially when considering that a teams offense starts at their own 30 yard line on mostly perfect surfaces ... getting into the red zone is not all that difficult these days

It's just my view but I prefer NFL games that are not free-scoring affairs.  So I don't like the 30 yard rule and would prefer it if it was 20 yards

The new safety rules that protect QB's, WR's and the like is enough as far as I'm concerned.  Giving the offense extra un-earned yards seems unfair on the defense in my view

I think it should be the whole time limit. Play the full time no matter how many possessions.

49ers slicing through this Detroit defence.  The question is can they curtail Detroits offense?

No they can't. Lions offence is phenomenal

Double points for the last week and the title is almost in GtB's hands!

Although it is a tricky week and 8 points is still possible (if only 1 participant gets 3 from 3)

Some of the lines are rather questionable but are the bookies ever wrong?

Printable NFL Week 18 Against the Spread Pick 'em Sheets

Going to be interesting on games like the Rams who will know before the play if the Bucs have won/lost and what it could mean to seeding, but I think a lot of starters get sat this weekend.

Bills, Chargers, Dolphins

It's either one or the other when the results don't matter.  It's either all-in or the starters get rested.  And Vegas cottons on early with the odds/lines

Best to follow the money a la KC, Bills & Texans (starters rested with all 3 teams?)

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
