Next week's games

Mon 7.00am Kansas City @ Baltimore (-3.5)

Mon 10.30am Detroit @ San Francisco (-7.0)

Allen missed a few easy throws late to go for it all.

Outside of the Bills avoiding the Chiefs in the playoffs, they need to change things up. I know the missing linebackers would have hurt but Kansas secondary was banged up too.

Mon 7.00am Kansas City @ Baltimore (7-12)

Mon 10.30am Detroit @ San Francisco (13+)

Wide right, the most dreaded words in Bills history. That was probably the best chance Buffalo will ever have beating Kansas in the playoffs. Allen was a bit wayward and as much as he makes good plays with his feet I do think he puts himself in harm's way quite often. Was also very fortunate on that fumble they recovered. Ravens and Chiefs AFC Chamlionshop game should be interesting.

On the NFC side Dan Campbell does it again. So much credit goes to the Detroit Lions. They go on to meet the Niners in the conference title game and I've got no doubt anyone that isn't a Niners fan will be pulling for Detroit. It's a shame because I would be too. Should be a great game too and hopefully it doesn't rain.

Detroit need to bring their best run defence and they are one of the best. McCaffrey can ruin the game. The Detroit oline has been great but the niners rush and pressure is next level.

Ravens should beat Chiefs and beat them, whilst not comfortably I think they will control the game from start to end.

One thing we know about the lions, they won’t die wondering. It’ll be aggressive play calling all the way. I expect it’ll either be close and a tight win for either or a blowout win for the 49ers.

its Jackson v Mahomes in Baltimore. As good as Jackson has been If it comes down to a back and forth between those 2 I back mahomes.

going to be 2 great games. Looking forward to them.

49ers should win, by rights, but if luck plays a decent part, the Lions can win.  As you mentioned, if the Lions aggressive play calling works, Detroit are a real show

And if the best version of KC turns up, they can beat the Ravens.  Then there's the Taylor Swift factor (whatever that is)

Chiefs @ Ravens (1-6)

 Lions (1-6) @ 49ers

For me of the Lions can stop the run as well as they have and Deebo not 100% it means they have a chance to keep the score down.
The Oline for the lions could be the biggest factor. Give Goff a clean pocket and he can hurt them.

The Mahomes factor will be big but with their secondary banged up a bit and the run game of Ravens being very good I can’t see how they get enough stops on D, Ravens will end up with a bigger time possession by games end but as said. Mahomes can Mahomes.

This week each win is worth 3 points plus 3 bonus points per game for the correct margin bracket (1-6, 7-13 or 13+)

The Super Bowl is worth 5 points along with 5 bonus points on offer as well

Good luck!

Ravens 11points

Detroit 3 points (I do think the filthy niners will win, but I want the Lions to win 😄)

The story is amazing and there is a part of me that wishes I was in everyone elses shoes pulling hard for Detroit.

At least if we lose it will be to a good story and not a hated rival, whether I feel this way on the day if it happens is another story.

If there is even 1ml of rain the Lions will win. 😜

Our defense has not been firing on all cylanders lately either. Can't get enough pressure on the QB and to be the broken record, Ferrell's absence is sorely missed when defending the outside run. Chase Young can't do it and Detroit are very effective when running the football. It also doesn't get mentioned enough how average our secondary can be at times. After Ward the dropoff at corner is cliff like, Lenoire is great physically but a hothead and Thomas is a walking PI to the point where at 3rd and long you just piff it up in his direction.

The holes are there to be exploited and the Lions could easily make a match of this.

All things being equal the 49ers should win by 2 scores.  But this is the NFL where odd things often happen!

So keep your fingers crossed, layz

Chiefs 1-6

Niners 7-12

Falcons hiring Raheem Morris Rams DC @Gorgoroth... Staggering considering he was the interim coach at the Falcons in 2020 for a half a season & let him walk.

Ravens 7-12. reckon their D will make more stops than the chiefs. But Mahomes is a genius, so you never know.

Niners 1-6. It'll be close but 49ers to just get over the line.

With only 2 head coaching jobs yet to be filled (Washington & Seattle) it seems that Bill Belichick may end up getting squeezed out

It’s funny I have a love/hate relationship with Him. His bend but not break mentality when we had a great D frustrated me, this year with a D full of rookies and no bodies he got the best of them.
I wish him luck, now we have to find more coaches to go under McVay.

KC 7-12

Detroit 1-6

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
