Steeelers win!

Trubisky is still terrible but Steelers on the back of their D get the win.

Watt out is going to really hurt them, Heywood looked banged up late too.

Cowboys stinking the joint out

As are the Packers

The Vikings are way better and the Bears could be very competitive as well

Devante Adams is already being missed (big time) and the other WR's aren't much chop (running game average as well)

Could be a long season for the both of us, Betters!!

Saints, Ravens, Broncos

Looks like you are the only one still alive, Clint

Broncos get up and you pick up 2 points with an added bonus point for going solo

Good luck!

The Oline looks as porous af. Dak spent a lot of the day on his backside

And the dumb penalties continued unabated

Not a very bright start at all

Early takeaways ...

Brady is as good as ever (he's never lost to the Cowboys) Tampa are a very good team especially with TB12 at the helm

Mahomes stunning at Arizona (5 x TD's & no Int) KC are back

The Bears might be alright.  As too, the Vikings who look ready to make a run to the playoffs

49ers might be in the bracket as the Cowboys & Packers in the NFC.  Rams slow out of the blocks as well.  Early doors though and it's only week 1

Ravens & Chargers start well and get it done.  Miami as well with a good win over the Pats

Eagles, Commanders, Browns & Saints made hard work of it but a win is a win

Patriots struggled but the Bills look the team to beat even at this early stage

And the highly favoured Colts couldn't get it done at Houston

Is it too late for me to change for the Eagles in the NFC East, Dak's injury just about dooms the Cowboys. Liking the Vikings in the NFC north too but let's see what Rodgers can do with these young receivers with more time. Oh and Bucs to win the NFC looks likely but I'm still a bit worried about Brady.

Bears and Texans were tipped to be the worst 2 teams in the NFL and I really think both teams are going to be too well coached and organised for that to be the case. They won't be good, they lack talent and have limited offenses, but Lovie Smith got elevated in Houston just do a solid job with a roster that's slowly trending the right way.

And whilst the national media have crapped all over the Bears for not giving Fields enough blocking and weapons the word out of the Bears from anyone who's seen them train or play so far has been that they're really professional and organised. Fields looks a long way off consistently running a seamless offense, especially one this devoid of talent. But what he can do is make huge plays. The Bears will try to stay in games for as long as possible before Fields makes a couple of huge throws and wins them. That won't beat the elite teams but it's not a terrible recipe against the lesser sides.

Well we're not playing for a sheep station but the answer isn't yes! haha

On Sportscenter this arvo Tim Hasselbeck was talking about Dallas getting another QB in for the short term (as an immediate starter) A particular player who was familiar with their set plays

Dak could be out for 2 or 3 weeks minimum and it's his throwing hand with that broken thumb (I believe)

Don't know a lot about Fields but all that sounds ok anyway.  I'd wish you good luck but we're divisional rivals!  And the rivalry is fierce

The Divisional system especially in the NFL is fantastic.  8 different leagues within 2 conferences works a treat

As for Lovie Smith, not surprised he got another chance.  They like giving 2nd & 3rd chances in American sports and he did win 3 divisional titles at the Bears

As usual, we lose a RB in the first game. Ahh

He made the plays when they counted. His cross field pass to an open Dante Pettis was not the easiest to make but he set himself well and pulled it off. Turning point in the game.

Credit to the Bears, they have some great young prospects on D and I'm a big fan of Roquan Smith. Some things are in certain teams DNA and forcing turnovers has always been in Chicago's.

The biggest prob at Tampa is the oline. Parsons lived in the back field.

Vikes looked good.

Packers oline is banged up bad, but they did well in the run game, look for bigger run game which will give Rodgers more time with his receivers.

Cowboys… ha ha ha

You'll never guess what happened!

No one gained any points in the tipping comp

Clint went close, but no cigar

Resume normal transmission

I'll post up the week 2 games tomorrow sometime but we've got a good game on Friday ... Chargers @ Chiefs

I know it’s only week one, but all I saw was that this years most definitely about the AFC.

And nearly all our teams stunk up the joint!

The AFC is where the power is, the collection of up and coming QBs in that conference is scary and will be for years to come.

@Gorgoroth@layzie@Dee Zephyr@Go the Biff@Clintosaurus  @JV7@DeeSpencer@Dappa Dan@titan_uranus@DemonDave

Week 2 games (and a tough week for finding road winners)

1 Point on offer (plus a bonus point if you are on the money, flying solo)

image.png.3695b61948598d6faf0c5af2daa08ad3.png

SNF this week is Chicago @ Green Bay

Oldest rivalry in the sport with 203 meetings.  Packers hold a slight advantage with 103 wins vs Bears 96 wins (along with 6 ties)

MNF has 2 games this week and both could be keenly contested ... Titans @ Bills along with Vikings @ Eagles

The two 7Mate games on Monday morning are decent too

3.00am Bucs @ Saints

6.25am Arizona @ Las Vegas Raiders

I worry about the Packers oline in protecting Rodgers, reckon a run heavy game could really help.

Rams oline is banged up too, Falcons can get us, gotta pound the rock and get the ball to Higbee and Robinson. We can’t rely on Kupp every play.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
