Call me weak is [censored] but I've just changed teams. I've gone from the Stealers to the Eagles now that I know that Johnston is getting a game for them. Go Johno?

Just saw a pathetic call by the refs in the ind v Hou game, on the goal line the receiver gets hit, it is a little high but the safety is on his knees and didn’t lead with his head, the receiver is also on his backside, this leads to an interception which of course doesn’t count, next play Hou get a TD.

What more the safety could do other than slither on his stomach? Refs had no feel for the game in that instance.

Are you kidding me Dolphins???? Unbelievable finish, one of the best plays I’ve seen in a while.

Stunned.

Some great finishes to the early games with boys v eagles into OT!

TB missed two early FG meaning a 14-3 instead of 20-3 score line before saints whacked them around.

Raiders... wow

My god tipping is impossible.

Steelers are now in real danger of missing the playoffs completely - final 3 games ... vs Pats,  @ Saints,  vs Cinci.  Baltimore are looming large and even the Browns are a chance in the AFC North

image.png.eb1fef0451fdc5e3184a30c43bfc1535.png

And the Pats almost certainly won't get to the 1 seed and may need to have to make-do with the 3 seed especially if they lose to Pittsburgh next week.  They are at home to the Bills & Jets in their last 2 games so they still should win the AFC East.

New England may be faced with having to win on the road twice during the playoffs if they drop 1 of their 3 remaining games and if Houston win out for the remainder of their regular season games - the Texans are @ Jets,  @ Eagles and then vs Jacksonville.

The Pats do have the tie-break advantage over Houston having beaten the Texans earlier in the season.

And maybe things aren't as cut & dried in the NFC either ... Rams held to just 6 points and not only was Goff brought back to Earth,  the Bears looked terrific in the process.  Has the great D returned to Chicago?  Looked like a statement game to me.

However,  the Rams have an easier run in than the Saints so they still could get to the 1 seed.  Saints have to play Carolina twice and Pittsburgh (H) so they could drop 1 of those 3.

The Rams final 3 games are vs Eagles,  @ Arizona,  vs 49ers and none of those 3 teams possess the D that the Bears offered up today.

My take on today’s debacle

Goff is terrible under pressure. Terrible.

Goff is horrendous in cold weather.

McVay and Goff are becoming too smart for themselves. Watch our offence early in the year compared to know and it’s more long throws into coverage and less shorter to open space and for some stupid Fukien reason less carries for Gurley... FFS you would think hand the ball to #30 would be high on rotation... not anymore.

This loss will hopefully mean they re asses. I still think we will get belted in the playoffs, since the saints game I’ve thought that and nothing has changed my mind yet.

Kupp is a massive massive loss and outside of Donald our big name D players are not worth their money at the min. They triple teamed AD today numerous times and we still couldn’t get to their QB

Wade needs to stop the run more... how many times have I written that this year.

Kupp is a massive loss and Cook never got the chance to stretch the field. That means it's also going to be tight throws or short stuff. More than anything though it seemed like the Rams O line just had a stinker, that can happen on the road. Fix the O line, the run gets going, Cook becomes a factor and things open up for Goff.

Handing off to Gurley when he's going nowhere isn't necessarily smart given the Bears defensive line were monstering, but I was shocked he couldn't get the ball in space. Roquan Smith is a good rookie linebacker but Gurley is even faster than he is and way more powerful. Gurley only 3 completions on 7 targets but a 10 yard average. I'd be dropping it off to him on tosses, screens and short passes all day if he's not getting the yards up the middle.

The shock of the game that tilted it in the Bears favour was the Bears being able to run the ball after failing to do so all year. I don't know what Wade is doing with Suh and Donald there shouldn't be anywhere to go!

I have no idea what Wade is doing. Me I would stop their run, Trubisky wasn’t playing well and stop the run, get Fowler to blitz of the edge, but stop the inside and make him throw to our secondary.

We ran two jet sweeps in the third or fourth... we use to run them every third play pretty much, I thought the play calling was very poor.

Got a night free.. Thought I'd avoid today's scores & watch the replay of MNF, what an average game. Finally got time to watch a full game & that was the result ☹️

It is now looking very likely that there is just the 1 Wild-card spot up for grabs in the NFC ... 8 & 8 might be enough to get it done and any of the teams from the Vikes down to the Lions can get to that W/L ratio or perhaps better.  I reckon Seattle are safe now and Dallas would have to implode to now not win the NFC East.

Minnesota are the most likely but they could lose 2 of their last 3 ... vs a confident Miami,  @ Detroit,  vs Chicago.  But all the other teams in contention are faced with similar scenarios and none of the candidates are playing all that well either.  After such a horrid season it's hard to believe that GB could sneak in.  Final 3 games for the Packers - @ Chicago,  @ Jets,  vs Lions.

Panthers have got the Saints twice and the Eagles have to play the Rams away & Houston.

But 1 team has to qualify and we all know that Wild-card teams can get hot from time to time.  The team that does qualify will almost certainly be up against the Bears or Cowboys in week 1 of the playoffs.

No change to the leaderboard after yet another barren week for tipsters ... a few standouts this week however and we're all playing for a vital 2 points.  Week 16 - 1 point & Week 17 - 3 points.

The Saturday night games are back as well - ideal Sunday viewing.

Will a few punt on Houston and get 1 of the 3 tips up early?  Seattle & the Saints are favoured road teams as are the Pats @ Pittsburgh.  Good luck!

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
