I still don't believe we deserve to make it on the season as a whole (losing more games than you win is not a finals team IMO) however the teams above us don't seem to want to play finals either and keep falling over.

It would be remarkable, however unlikely.

One of those games is in fact a draw so it would be 10-1-11 (providing we dont win against hawthorn) that is close enough in my eyes as a 50 percent strike rate not too bad. And 50 percent of our games were losses and 50 percent weren't sooooooo

There are a few really nice cheesecake recipes with chocolate in them.

I don't think we deserve to make 8, if we do then it will be with 10 1/2 wins sides should not make finals footy with more loses then wins, i think they should change the finals,if a team loses more then they win then they should not play finals footy.

So the side that comes 5th gets a bye if the side that comes 8th (more losses than wins.)Logical.

to rank bails overall performance this year...

at the moment he deserves a 'C'

C* since he has improved on last year....win no more games for the year.

B* if we win one or two games more for the year (10th or Less)

A if we finish 9th

A+ If we make the finals....

*Happy to make it a C+ or B+ if we lose the games by small margins...

Poor old Brock Mclean, and CJ for that matter (didn't he put in a shocker on saturday!!!)

I laughed so hard when I saw that footage of CJ dropping a simple handpass with the ball then going out of bounds.

Despite the thread I started, if us making the finals means Carlton missing them, then that would be a nice feeling.

From our perspective I think that it is important that Richmond had a win on the weekend, not only because it dented Adelaide's chances but also ensures that we don't take them lightly. Frawley to Riewoldt, Jordie to Martin.

Again another person satisfied with "close enough".

12 wins is the minimum to achieve a "winning" season.

"Close" will not win us flags.

Then it's lucky that we're not talking about winning flags in this thread. To make the finals, you need to have more points than eight other sides. Currently, Carlton and Sydney do, and it may just be that in a few weeks time, Melbourne may also. If that's the case, then we get to give our young team at least one more game of AFL than we would have otherwise been able to this year. This alone makes it worthwhile to get there.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
