I almost think PJ is in our best at the moment! Along with Bennell, Scully and even BAil.

Bail's our of bounds on the full takes him out of the votes for me.

I'm sick and tired of us going interstate and not putting up a whimper.

Looks like we have forgotten to turn up again.

I cringe when I read articles like Demons out to kick Subiaco hoodoo.

Our interstate record is such an embarrassment.

I wish our players would walk the talk interstate....just once.

If Moloney is, as you put it "average" I hate to see how you rate other MFC players, I would have him in MFC top 4.

I know he will be top four in our BF. Probably top 2 or 3 after being second last year. To me thats consistent.

Your not allowed to say bad things about Jack Watts here! People get very upset!

I thought we were bagging Nathan Jones this month.

supercoach reflects where we r at

most of our back 6 r up the top

lift dees!!

in my opinion garland has been worst on ground

hes been really poor, cost us atleast 3 goals.

the umpires are whistle happy against us ? is it coincidence we got 7 goals from free kicks last week? i think no

its a very frustrating game to watch i dont know who to be angry at..

myself for thinking we can play ok today and enjoy watching the game after work with a beer.

bailey for not putting green forward and playing one on one

the players for playing shithouse.

Poor display. Should really be down by 10 goals +. Freo allll over us.

But... it's far too easy to bag and slag every Melbourne player under the sun with a performance like this. They will ALL learn from this experience big time (including Beamer!!). Last week all Dees players were like GOds and they were all top notch!

For mine:

- I'm not a fan of Watts in the back half.

- Frawley continues to hold his own and if only we had 6 Frawley's in that backline we'd be ok!!

- Jones is far too careless with his tackling and pressure.

- Sandilands is owning us!

- I give up.

GET OFF THE BLOODY GROUD BATE!!!! LJ YOU CAN FOLLOW!!!!!!!!

WHO WANTED MORTON IN???????????????

GRRRRRRRR

Bate's spot in the team will most likely come under pressure this week. Hasn't had a good game for a while now (IIRC his last decent game was vs Adelaide 3 weeks ago).

Jurrah has to get a little more team oriented.

Morton has been consigned to a rubbish game by being left loose in defence. I want him up on a wing or maybe even forward.

looks like another week of: 'off with bailey's head!' :(

No, not at all. This is not the coaches fault whatsoever.

yeah and what does that have to do with my comment?

Not sure it is effort as much as our huge number of turnovers. Freo giving us a lesson as to how to create pressure in modern football.

Lesson's, how many lesson's do we need? It's the same old. I agree I didn't expect Melb to win, but come on. We have had enough lessons in the last two and a half seasons. We were top on tackles after RD 3. There has been NO improvement over the season AS A TEAM. Better 2nd half is on the way. Bring it back to 2 - 3 goals. Well done again Sculls!

It's walk the walk, mate. Talk the talk, walk the walk.

I hate it when people get that wrong so sharpen up big fella

he's actually running out of the backline and trying to take the game on rather than sitting with the ball for 10secs then kicking to a contest/out of bounds like bruce, garland, rivers, etc.

Why is the team i love, so much, so insipid when were bad and interstate???? I'm finding it very hard 2 c a flag in the near future just more heartaches like this, i guess i'm use 2 it after seeing 4 so long, toughen up everyone and hope our DEES do to. weve all been here as supporters b4. I f......g hate it.

Very disappointing so far. Our defensive line has wilted under the constant pressure of the Dockers. Need a miracle to come back from here.....

Another massive embarrassment. Sorrymto join the throng, butmwith this team, on paper, we should be much better than this. Bailey needs to lift. Yes, I'm saying it now, rather than late next year when it's too late. Something needsmto be done before this crop of talented kids turns into the next bunch ofMelbourne also-rans. I'm filthy on this performance. Filthy.

I have had to listen to the live feed on the AFL site so I haven't watched the game but the commentators have gone from barracking for Freo to felling sorry for us so we must be crap . I agree with what you say, on paper we are much better than our performance so far today and you have to wonder if we will ever be able to get over the travelling issue. On this aspect of our game, if you can't win away you can't win a flag, it's impossible, the coach needs to work very hard on this.

The thing that annoys me is the fact that Jones Watts and Bruce have given away 10 free kicks between them, are they getting caught or is it just sloppy play and poor tackling?

I'm actually glad I can't see this I would be ashamed by the sound of it. I guess one thing Richmond have been soundly beaten so the issue of who is the better coach will not be prominent this week.

McPharlin takes a screamer - I wish I had Foxtel

I wish I didn't.

Have I mentioned already today that I hate McPharlin more than any player in the AFL? No? Well, I do.

On top of being an appalling flat track bully, he is yet another beneficiary of the time honoured AFL tactic "Ease 'em back against soft Melbourne."

Posted

This isn't a coaching problem. It's not that the gameplan is wrong or that the setups aren't working. It's simply that they players are not working hard enough and are butchering the ball too often.

Jones is trying to hard. Bruce is to slow and losing touch and Jack no comment

Just looking through the fixture, we may not win another game this year. No chance next week for sure.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
