Brian Dixon and Bob Carrol 50, 60 70's are regulars

Spoke to Neita at a function recently and learnt he is primarily developing links between the club and business. Most importantly he is doing work with Jack Watts. We talked about his skills with hands, marking and handball but most importantly his basketball like awareness of everything going on around him. What did you think of that basketball interception on the bomber ( don't know who it was) on the boundary line last week. He's building up a repetoire of such one percenters, ( another eg the goal assist up at the Punt Rd end. What Neita wants him to do now is learn that while he has great awareness he has to learn to say to himself, that's my ball and I'm going to get it.

Packmarks will come with confidence and body strength.

You find quite a lot of ex players sitting in the second level of the Olympic stand. You will be suprised how many still go regularly.

Its awesome sitting up there, its a who`s who of the MFC, including all the injured players. I had a great chat with LJ up there a month ago.

Re ex players,I saw Daniel Ward recently, looked like he`d knocked back a six pack, maybe more. Leoncelli and Robbie are always there. I think its great that so many ex players still hang around the club, Jimma has a lot to do with this!

Sydney FC are offering all ex-socceroos and one guest free memberships for life. I was wondering if MFC should do something similar with ex-players that played 100 games plus etc. Good to keep players around the club, even at a distance. Great to help build the passion for future father-son-draft picks perhaps.

its called 'life membership'. all clubs do it.

Players automatically get "Life Membership" after 10 years playing at the club. The club regularly awards Life Membership to long serving volunteers at the AGM each year.

Former carlton player Phillip Pinnell is always at the Dees games, he sits in the outer no fuss at all even goes to the practice games at Casey. I think he played in some premiership sides at Carlton.

Phil Pennell also played for Melbourne. He played 28 games from 1980 1981. His wife & kids were members of the "Demons" club and at all Melbourne games when he was working on radio in the late 80's

I see Phil Pinnell, his wife and sometimes his son (I guess it's his son) in the AFL members at almost every Melbourne match. He loves his footy, and loses his mind at the umps every weeks...very on eyed Melbourne. For the record, his son is a huge unit...I wonder if he ever played footy, i'm talkin like 6"5 and built like a brick s*it house.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
