Gold Coast Suns is confirmed. Guernsey hasn't changed.

Yeah, big announcement

Theme song had a good traditional tune to it, but the words were pretty heinous.

horrible song, but still greater than fremantle's

"we are the suns of the gold coast sky, in the red yellow blue, we are the suns of the gold coast sky, the team for me and you" ... and then something about never say die. or words to that effect

Good on you Jack7. Btw, I wouldn't mind waking up in boxers and a singlet in 23 C after this morning in Melbourne ! (*teeth chattering*)

But hey, I wake up each morning in the Sporting Capital of the world. So I can't complain.

:)

WIth regard to those 8,000 GC members. May I be so bold as to ask if you know the avg. membership cost of those 8,000. ie. Is it $160-$170 full memberships, or is it just a sign-on-membership at minimum cost ? I'm interested to know.

Yeah,it's $45 this year.

Yeah,the Suns it is.

Pretty average but is it any worse than the Dockers or Power?

I was hoping for the Sharks,i know Cronulla and Southport already have it but it was the best fit for me and there's a lot of Sharks up here of the human variety.

Not a bad name the Gold Coast Suns! Shithouse song and jumpers.

Ablett will stay a cat after watching the upstream.

Their strip looks like a training top, it's like the people in charge of their design had a big night and just decided to submit the most basic design possible. Never thought i'd say this, but i prefer the Dockers look over them!

I can't believe they are sticking with that awful jumper! I would rather fork out for a burlap sack then hand over $100 for that b-grade monstrosity they call a jumper!

Yeah its very basic. I think the away top looks better with the wave rather than the plain stripes on the side

Hate to disagree but the Freo song sounds like a mix of Nick Cave at his creative worst and a soundtrack to a 1950's Russian propaganda film about a steel mill.

As for the Gold Coast song, it sounds like the third verse of the Port Power song.

The jumpers are horrible, the logo looks like a packet of Rice brand, the GC in the middle of the home jumper is a cheap and nasty rip off of the Sports Tonight logo, the Wave on the away and clash jumpers is cheap and nasty and reminds me of the Adelaide or hawthorn clash strips that everyone rubbish's, the name Suns is ok and the song isn't the worst in the AFL. What is dissapointing is that the Board of the GCFC have forgotten everything they said about 8 months ago. I clearly remember their position being

1. No name to begin with, let the fans decide, let one evolve = fail

2. A traditional, strong football jumper = fail (home one is a pass, just)

Whoever the club had do the graphic design work should bve forced to pay their money back. I have seen jumper designs 10x bettwer on the bigfooty.com site. It isn't that difficult. Shocking job. The colours are weak too. More blue is needed. Massive fail for mine

Surprised they stuck with the training singlet, but it will save them money...

The song is awful my wife who has no interest in footy thought it was a gay song sung by the village people...that about sums it up.

Suns is okay for an example but a shark would have been better IMHO.

Could not agree more "Yeats08" I hope they can play because the Jumper and song are crap.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
