Petterd says he is staying

Featured Replies

How about this:

"I know the team was going somewhere, and I couldn’t be a part of it this year. I look forward to getting back next year and hopefully start where I left off."

and:

"For the record, Petterd has no plans to move back to his home state, and he's more than happy to be part of an emerging Demons outfit.

“It’s an exciting place to be," he said.

"It’s in the hands of my manager and the club now, so there’s not much I can really do. They will look after it, I’m sure.”

...................

Cheers!

Reads like a commitment to the Dees to me. He's going nowhere!

He's a must-keep-if-at-all-possible player, for my books.

Looks like it is possible.

Plays with poise and skill and shows all the onfield values you'd ever want.

Yes Reads like "If the Demons offer me a solid Contract i shall sign the papers" couldn't read much GC Home sickness there (and i tried really Hard....)

Not really suprised that Ricky wants to stay as he can see the beginnings of a very competitive team

IMO Ablett has already signed with GC17 last year

A team player wouldnt let the media speculation go on this long

And even more so his team

This will prove if Ablett is a team player and IMO he isnt and thats a family trait

So he spelt pettord wrong did he/she?

You bastard

He neither confirmed or denied, merely stuck to "cliches" and even offered an excuse for his departure,It's up to my manager and MFC.Just about covers all scenarios in my opinion.

Injuries seem a bigger concern.

I have been visiting the demonology site for a fair while and only occassionally visited demonland, one of the reasons I have become a demonland member is because of the petty happenings on demonology and the spiteful comments made to other members, and after signing in tonight and viewing the Ricky Petterd signing on topic I see that some demonland members are getting into other members because of either a spelling mistake or a typing error, let's keep the site more friendly - I presume we are here for one common purpose - supporting the might red and blue and hoping for that elusive premiership

I think as Melbourne supporters we should all know how to spell Petterd.

Or Wonaeamirri

I've seen Petterd out a few times at the Hawthorn, he probably wouldn't be able to live with not being able to go out clubbing or to a bar in the Gold Coast.

But realistically, if you were Petterd and were interviewed you would respond in the same manner if you had intentions of leaving.

You wouldn't come out and say you are bailing or thinking about it straight out, especially with the awkwardness surrounding his club and team mates. If he has guaranteed he is staying wearing the red and blue, he would make it official by signing THE CONTRACT. No he has not confirmed he is staying, and no he has not confirmed he is leaving. Everyone saying their glad he is staying, stop spreading false hope as nothing yet is set in stone.

Or as non anal retentive people that realise this is just a forum and not a HSC exam we might not give too much of a crap about it.

Agree with others, those comments mean SFA, chooka mclean anyone?

HaHa! how true....

why pick up on such small things, nothing better to do pal..

No need to be touchy.

I'm with 45 on this. I hate it when people get names wrong. And as fans of this player's club, we should be the ones getting it right. Like the Robinson/Trengrove situation...

It's not anal to expect people here to get it right. It's not exactly difficult is it?

Gee. A few people need to take a bit of their own medicine. Show me where I had a go at any other poster...

Demonland is a brilliant site and I hardly think that anyone can claim that someone expressing their frustration at one of their players' names being spelt incorrectly is bringing the site down.

I must also say - what's with the attitude of 'I'm not perfect, unlike you.'

It seems to crop up so often.

In no way have I ever claimed to be perfect (feel free to do research if you desire) but surely when you're found out having made a mistake you be adult enough to accept it, take it and move on - any other response indicates you think that it's reasonable and acceptable to get such an easy name wrong.

Your thoughts Freak?

haha, what else is he going to say? 'yes, i'm quite interested in becoming a member of the Gold Coast football team, I just went down there to check out what my future team mates were like'.

Same with Ablett, like he is going to say that he has verbally agreed to join the GC FC when he is still a cat. He will have to wait til the season is over and that's why they delayed 'talks'.

I am perfect. Deal with it.

How precious can we be?

I have a solution for those who feel belittled by others for getting names wrong...

Spell the name right.

We all go after Underwood when she mistakes Dunn for Watts. All MFC players should be spelt properly on this site.

That's a deliverable we can all stand by.

A handy Demaon line-up:

B: Rollinsen, Johnston, Ingason

HB: Loveit, Harderman, Sulliven

C: Elves, Man, Dickson

HF: Lion, Schwatz, Burke

F: Dittrich, Jackervich, Pettard

R: Stines, Barasi, Callary

IC: Heely, Wonamerri, Trengrove, G. Osburn

Coach: John Northee

Would Rusel Robinson make the emergencies list?

Lucky we don't have Dylan Roberton playing for us.....imagine the anger when called Robertson, or worse Robinson!! ;)

Its even luckier we don't have Karmichael Hunt playing for us!

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
