MELBOURNE coach Dean Bailey called it a super challenge, most simply see Saturday's clash against Geelong as mission impossible.

Oof, that was a little harsh. I mean, we are playing the team who have made three grand finals in three years, winning two of them, and we're consecutive wooden spooners, but we're not Richmond quality or anything. We're serious improvers, probably finals contenders but this article bugs me because it's almost as if Michael Horan's saying we're crap. Well, it seems that way to me anyway. But if we exert the pressure we did against Collingwood and Brisbane we're in with a shot, and it seems like we do that best when we're underdogs.

The comments are really great to see though, only one person saying Gary Ablett will get leather poisioning for getting 134 disposals (biased Cats supporter IMO) but most of the others are saying 'Don't write the Dees off', 'Might cause an upset' etc.

Attitude will go along way to winning this game at the Cattery. I am glad we are Rank outsiders. It means we can spend the day Hunting.

But it will depend on Melbournes attitude. That's why i think it's a great idea to go down there on Friday.

Anywho, as for MFC's task this week...I hope we take it up to them, but I'm not hopeful. I'll be down there though, so hopefully we put up a decent fight.

We are absolutely no chance of winning this weekend. The first two paragraphs of the article do a great job explaining why.

It will have been nearly 8 days since Geelong played Collingwood at the MCG in what turned out to be a relatively easy win, while it wont have even been 7 days since Melbourne played a 1-point match in ridiculously harsh conditions that left the entire side absolutely spent. Almost any team would beat us with that sort of headstart, let alone the best side in the comp, at their home ground where they've been near unbeatable for several years. We've improved, but we're not good enough to win this one. Hell, there have been premiership teams who could never have beaten a side of Geelong's calibre under these conditions. I will be happy enough if we play well for most of the game (I expect us to run out of legs in the 4th) and it's not an absolute blowout. But if we lose by 70 or so, I won't be shocked or frustrated.

The fixture has worked out well, actually. This was always gonna be the game we were least like to win, so it might as well be the one we play right after getting back from Darwin. Imagine if we'd got Essendon or Carlton instead, and outplayed them for most of the game but got steamrolled in the last quarter because we were still feeling it from Darwin, and ran out of legs.

Yep, I think so to, after a strong showing down sleepy hollow. Then the Navy buoys, @ the 'G'. That may be time for the Gys to appear, as well.

I'm not expecting a massive whitewash. I'd like to see us stay with them. Something like the Saints game at the end of last year. A 5 goal loss to a serious side like them actually GAINS you respect, given how good they are.

For Beamers sake i hope the Demons win.

Cats at home and have not been beaten there in 3 years.

They have had an extra day's break with no interstate travel.

MFC played any putrid sapping conditions in Darwin and some players lost 1.5kgs as well as pulling up sore and physically spent post match.

I dont think MFC have a realistic chance. I hope they will win but I dont believe they will all things considered.

If (and yes, it is a very big IF), we can contain Ablett, Chapman and Bartel, then we are well on the way to an upset; and I really don't think that that is beyond us.

Agreed. This is a tough assignment of the highest order -- Mission Impossible is accurate. The best the side will be capable of will not be good enough - I just hope they do get close to reaching "best".

I'd love to upset the Cats and I have seen us do it down there but it is unlikely.

Carlton will in fact be a very good measure of where we are. They should be a couple of years ahead of us in development but I reckon we are a real show. It's one I have been looking forward to for a couple of weeks now.

Like you I really hope they win. I don't expect them to however.

In addition to these facts, it is a daunting prospect for any team in the comp to play the cats at home where they haven't lost since round 21, 2007 (as you would know).
