Grimes has not lived up to his hype this year at this stage.Maybe a run in the guts may help him- because he cannot cope with pressure as yet IMO.

20 games of AFL and his star is rising and you are last person to see it.

That's really insightful. Just what do you think the coaching panel are currently doing?

Am I supposed to respond as rudely as that? Happy to comply, if you want to go down that path.

Obviously it didn't work on Saturday - whatever they were telling Grimes to do.

I dont agree to the implication that defence is somewhere for your weaker players to play. Grimes is not one of those anyway. The half back line is where the ball should be turned over to us and attack is initiated so it needs players who can go from being accountable to grabbing opportunities, its where - dashers with ability to hit targets are essential. Leave Grimes where he is.

I agree with 100% - but how can he be attacking if he's getting his possies in the defensive 10 metre square?

How many times did players kick back against Brisbane.Virtually nil--and it was stated that we imlemented our game plan perfectly.

So you seem to be implying that the game plan used against Brisbane on the expanses of the MCG should also be applied unaltered on the smaller Dome? I seem to recall seeing in another thread that you claimed to have been coaching since you were 16 years of age, yet in all of that time you have only managed to come up with the concept of a "one-size-fits-all" game plan? Glad you're not my tailor.

Grimes will be All Australian in a couple of seasons' time and is already our most reliable backman (yes, even more so than Frawley)... but I am not averse to giving him a run forward for half a game just to see what he can do - maybe alternate he and Garland forward and back for a half each.
