He'll fit in better in their gameplan, which has room for poor kicks... Swan, Cloke, Shaw, et al... Good fit I reckon. Not sure if he'll be breaking any records though....

I mean... He could be the fourth delisted/traded player to play in a flag in the last ten years...

On the other hand, Buckley seemed like an offensive type who, while quick, was Ward-like in his use of the footy - harder to carry poor disposal if that's a big part of your game.

I used to like the way Ward went about it!

anyway, Buckley & Vilenti were in the same boat for mine - younger midfielders who were allways going to struggle to get a run if/when we got some high draft picks and used them on mids.

There are quite a few Ex Melbourne players that have gone on to play in a winning Grand Final team for another club.

I know deep down inside Simon is still a true Melbourne Football Club person. He works for the Collingwood footy club, but his passion still lies at the Dees. According to a mate who knows his family, he and his family (especially his old man) were absolutely gutted when he was delisted by us (being such passionate MFC people), and was picked up by the old enemy.

Good luck to him in his career at Collingwood, like PJ in the other thread, I was a big fan of Bucks and thought if he could improve his disposal he could be a fantastic player. You can't teach speed like his. He looks to have improved that disposal aspect of his game so far (based on this pre season) and might end up with a great career still. Or he might not (probably won't).

i was more interested in the post that said it was actually a hip injury and not op, saying it was diagnosed wrong. with his injury sorted i hope he forges a career for himself. good luck. (oh and dont go keying any more ex-girlfriends cars.)

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft.     Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock for the final week of training for the 1st to 4th Years until they are joined by the rest of the senior squad for Preseason Training Camp in Mansfield next week.
