IMO, just the one

In. Sylvia

Out. Bennell

Bennell is far too soft, and Sylvia is obviously a certain in.

I'd like to see Newton given a few more weeks to prove his worth, he is no worse than Miller in any case.

na id leave bennell in around the forward line he was lively. yes he made an error but what message does that sends to him when you gt dropped after that one effort. he will learn. sylvia for sure and garland if he is ready.

Bennell is not hard at it but it made a huge difference having some leg speed in the forwardline. Sylvia for Bartram (who was not bad but should be nothing more than filler. Hope they persevere with Strauss again next week.

I'd consider Martin for Newton. Newton gave nothing, Martin at least has (some) experience in the ruck, and couldn't have less influence in the forward line.

If Sylvia's fit, he comes in for Bartram or Bennell I think (unless Strauss is injured, he was limping at half time, but ran out the game). Maybe Bruce, tbh.

But that's it really.

When its your turn to go...you go... no ifs buts or maybes. There is no other way.

He did liven up the forward line but he is touch timid for mine.

Hope they persevere with Strauss again next week.

I trust Sean Wellman will have a word to him about granting another 7-8 metres space where Anthony was goalside of him with no MFC defenders behind and Collingwood attacking. Poor judgement and lack of experience and Anthony goaled. Ugh

Dear god.

Great team effort today but I can't believe people haven't mentioned Bruce or

Bate.

If people are going to use the excuse that he isn't match fit, then play him in the

twos. He is not doing anything but making mistakes.

And Bruce. Holy god I can't believe people still rate the guy. Needs to be dropped for

a wake up call.

Sylvia in for Strauss but with plans for Strauss to return soon.

Leave Newton in. He made good contests today and led at the ball carrier. Our smaller mids and forwards crumbed from him reasonably well. Martin doesn't do that.

I totally disagree. Strauss is going to get better and better, particularly after a game like today's. I don't think any kid should be dropped (outside of possibly Bennell) because they've got to grow together.

Bate is not fit, and is a completely liability right now.

The Juice dream is over, but for the sake of fairness he should get another game. We already paid to elevate him and all.

Bruce I've given up on.

Jamar needs support. I never want to see Juice rucking ever again *shudder*, plus we can't risk over working him into an injury. Heaven help us if Jamar goes down!

In: Sylvia, Martin

Out: Bate (get fit!), Bruce

(Since that won't happen, Bennell probably needs to harden up with Casey for a while. Dropping chest marks is unacceptable!)

Bruce... Cough...

Bennell is a second gamer and he will be spoken to about that effort.

He has played more then two games. How come people are paying out Bruce who played in the backline and did his job. He wasn't our best player but ffs he was far from or worst. His defensive side of his game was excellent, I cant recall an opponent kicking a goal on him. However Bate must go. He is slow and does nothing. I'd keep Bennell in the team, when he pulled out it wasnt good but he also contributed well today.

If I were coach, it would certainly be:

IN: Martin, Sylvia

OUT: Bate, Bartram

sylvia the only one to come back in imo...

while the message should be that while today was a great effort, we still need to win, i don't think anyone in the side deserves being dropped. bartram or bennell are probably closest to bring in slvia.

i would like to see spenc back in, but he cannot play forward. not much point in him playing on the bench and only 5 minutes a quarter.

No he isnt.

Bennell got spooked and it cost the team plenty.

Bruce was poor early, cost us a goal but was steady later. But I am no fan of Bruce's.

Apologies. I meant second year player.

I'm sorry but who did Bruce play on? Really didn't notice him in MANY marking contests.

He was just doing his usual floating round gathering useless possessions again.

Yes maybe he was a touch better than last week but he is one of our senior guys ffs!!!

He must show more! If Bailey is willing to drop players like Miller, he must be fair and

drop Bruce because he is a rabble at the moment.

Jamar will be by himself again next week. Spencer is a liability. Plus Adelaide don't have a decent ruckman, so the Russian will be fine.

Sylvia in for Bartram.

Bruce cost a few goals today. But he'll never be dropped.

This is admirable defence, but misguided unfortunately.

Bruce was appalling. He gifted Collingwood a goal in the first quarter by handballing to Bate, who didn't want it and was flat-footed. Turnover, goal.

In the third he marked a brilliant kick from Strauss (keep him in please), only to handball to McKenzie, who I'm sure wanted it, but had 2 Pies right behind him. Senior players shouldn't be selling junior ones down the river like Bruce did so often today.

He won't be dropped, I know that, but he was one of our worst 2 or 3 today and that's bad for a senior player.

Does anyone know what happen to Spencer pregame. Injured??

Why?

Why should he be above the team?

You play poorly you get dropped. Miller did, so why not Bruce?

I never get that one. I really don't.

I agree.

There's an argument for keeping senior players in to lead the youth, but if Miller can go, Bruce can too.

He is letting us down, and sending him back to Casey could shock him into improvement. Worked for Nick Dal Santo 2 years ago.

Hopefully, Bate'll be fit and much better next week.

I hope that's a funny joke cause I'm pretty sure I heard the

exact same words after the West Coast praccie game.

Wonder how many more rounds we will be hearing that one.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
