Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Here's a bit of the 'nastiness' or 'ruthlessness' that some of you seem to be so keen on seeing.

Sounds like we could actually put some of this intel to use. Handy.

love it, great work Dave, about time someone at the club got some mongrel about them

I don't mind the club getting hold of information in this regard, they've all been doing it for some time. What irks me is that now Hawthorn knew a week before the game. How did the Dees not keep it to themselves ? And what is to say Hawthorn doesn't or hasn't changed their plans before game day ?

I think the Dees should be more in tune on what they intend to do gameday, than worry about the opposition. Like winning the % of contests around the ground, not just at the stoppages.

I love it - but geez I wish we'd have been better over the time he's been doing it. Spying to get all this info to get done by 10 goals plus makes me sad.

Possibly someone saw him, as has frequently happened in the past.

If it results in Hawthorn desperately trying to tweak their gameplan in the next few days then I think that would make things a lot harder for them come game day.

Considering that is Dunbar's job I have no problem with him concentrating on it.

To say we should be more in tune with what we intend to do on gameday, would be to assume Bailey is waiting on Dunbar's info with baited breath. Not a likely scenario.

Every little bit helps. It's about gaining whatever advantage you can.

We won't get beaten by more than 10 goals! I'll put my life on that...

We need to now what the opposition is doing, what if they haven't got a second tall forward and they pick a small speedster, has been seen training in all the drills....do we drop Warnock or take a risk.......as for the game.....Bailey needs every bit of information he can get........I am sure because for the last couple of years we have been so predictable...he would like to throw a curve ball at Hawthorn from the opening bounce.....and I am sure Hawthorn would love to know what it is........every club does it.......

I think the focus would be more on who they plan to use in the ruck and what tactics they will use at stoppages (who is likely to be 3rd man up, therefore we need to block his path to the contest).

It'd be simple matchups and finding ways to put a spanner in the other teams' works.

Also seeing what sort of defence we're likely to have to combat helps.

Edit: For instance, the papers have been talking up Grimley - Emma Quayle on SEN today said she'd barely seen him play in the ruck at all when in U18 competition, although she hadn't watch all of his games.

Lisle as well is a young defender.

The hawks themselves have mentioned Carl Peterson from memory, and last I checked he was something like 187cm.

Lewis and Hodge training as 3rd man up would also suggest Lewis will play, as some have mentioned he might not play.

Its time for Mark Jamar to step up, and take the game by the balls and dominate in the centre square, and around the ground to give us first use at all times!!

This part has peaked my interest:

Bailey and Co MUST have made sure that around the boundry we combat the 3rd man up scenario even if it means we screen the likely

Hodge and Lewis it has got to be done to ensure our one tactical advantage this weekend is actually maintained. Bailey's tactics

or the sides execution of them so far this pre-season have been abysmal.

Jamar must crash the pack bash up the opposition ruckmen but not get carried away dominance of the ruck thisn week

is a must. Play Martin out of the goal square let Jamar dominate the ruck at least he's been in reasonable form.

If we do this we will for want of a better word be 'competitive'.

Better still don't play Martin.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
