Yes, I've done mine too and thought "What an odd collection of questions" The membership packages for 2010 are out, so all those questions are for future planning.

I was annoyed I could only mark ONE favourite player....& they only chose about 5 players in the question on who was essential for future success. It's a team sport & I have more than one favourite!

Did anyone else take the opportunity to add suggestions to the merchandise section?

I know there's some legal rules in place, but I suggested putting more past games up for sale. I'd pay $40 to the club happily for a DVD of some of our games. I'm thinking of the Freo and Brisbane games last year particularly. To add to the attractiveness, why not throw some special features in the DVD and interview the players about the game and their thoughts going into it, and when it ended. Dare I say, a DVD commentary with a few of them?

Call me nuts, but I reckon that's a sound idea, would be VERY cost-effective and fun... And I reckon enough people would buy them that it would make something for the club...

Awesome idea! I'd pay a lot for a DVD copy of those games you've listed there.

I'd pay $50+ for a copy of these games: '06 elimination final, QB '07, round 10 vs Adelaide '07, round 7 vs Freo '08, round 14 vs Brisbane '08, and all of our wins this year. I haven't got anything to get me through the long summer ahead, so a few of our games on DVD would be fantastic.

EXACTLY! I'm O/S and missing footy like crazy. Off season is hard enough without even having cricket to watch.

Those games above are just scratching the surface, too. There's plenty of little ones here and there I'm sure fans would like to get a hold of. For me, going as far back as rounds 1 & 2, 2002, when I fell in love with footy again. I'm sure there's a lot of die-hard fans who have similar memories of specific games. The finals series in 2002 would be a pretty good one too. Along with that of 2000 obviously, which had, for many, the best game some of us have seen an MFC team compete in.

Stuff it. Give me a camera, a darkened room, a bunch of MFC polos in Large, X-Large and XX-Large (the last one for Neita) and I'D conduct the interviews to be added to the DVDs, burn them, and set up a stall in the MFC store as well as an online shop. Jaded's got me all inspired!!!!!!

And can you imagine what the money would be like if we actually started winning?

Of course, the AFL owns the rights, so it's not going to happen so easily. In fact if it WERE this easy, it would be just another way the clubs with larger membership totals could out do us.

Oh, and BB... PM me if you're interested in getting some games. I might know a good place to go for you online.

The issue seems to be the lack of core supporters to cover the overheads.

There are some great ideas there, and we should be doing a lot more merchandise wise, but we've got to be careful of managing our overheads.

Here are some ideas that I'd like to see:

- More variety of the membership gifts

- DVDs of the season highlights (well maybe half a DVD anyway), highlights from retired players' careers etc

- Casual wear

- Social club memberships/gifts etc

I'd also like to see the club develop a better online store. Unfortunately, we're constrained by the AFL in terms of websites etc.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
