The only difference it would make would be a little added pressure coming into the club, they may feel that Scully is a better prospect/player but they do psychological exams on all the players at the draft camp and they might come to the conclusion that Trengove would handle it better. Especially considering the BS from the media that Watts has had to endure.

Whether Scully or Trengove is picked at number 1 is a bit artificial really.

The reality is, we're getting both players (assuming they're the players the club will pick, which I hope is the case).

This is wholly different to the Jack Watts situation. It's not comparable.

Jack was/is measured against Natanui, Rich, Hill and Hurley, in circumstances where we could only pick one of them - and, arguably, the stand outs weren't quite as obvious at this point in time last year.

I'm glad the club picked Watts, particularly if we pick Scully and Trengove.

If they didn't pick Watts, with the benefit of a season under their belts I'd have taken Hurley out of the others - and he wasn't seemingly ever in the mix in the debate here prior to last year's draft.

Watts also had to contend with the NikNat excitement factor and Rich being known to be a proven player against mature bodies. I think the circumstances this year are very different. If we only had ONE pick, it could be different though.

The only difference is the pressure of being no. 1, right? Other than that, no difference at all. So it just comes down to whether the club feels that Trengove would deal with what could well be much more media and expectation if he goes no. 1 as opposed to no. 2. Not exactly that much of a difference, but they might be considering it.

Yeah it is like an award, a recognition of being the best junior prospect in Australia. The club has a bit of a responsibility just to name the kid who most deserves it at 1

The source is the Advertiser.Melb officials were here yesterday to watch the state screening wher Trengove was very good,in the top 2% nationally for the sprint & beep test.They had a long chat with him & its believed that they think he has the mental edge over Scully to be able to handle the media attention that goes with being num 1.Thers no diff as we will take them both anyway its just the media scrutiny & interviews etc that num 1 has to deal with.Hes had the media interviews & press reports etc leading up to the finals & playing in the G/F & they think he could handle it better.As for saying hes only just burst onto the scene is a bit off,maybe over in Vic he hasnt had the attention but the same goes here for Scully.Id say very few outside of Melb supporters over here would ever have heard of him,i hadnt until half way through this year.Trengove is playing at a far superior level & captained the state so for me hes a standout num 1,im not baging Scully though so dont think that.I just think that trengove is ready to play AFL right now

He's had the attention of being number 1 for 2 years and countless amount of taggers and he's still got the job done.

I would think Scully would get more questions about why he is number 2 then if he went number 1.

well yes..if only for as much as said, that is, the ability to hold the tag of #1..the scrutiny and expectations etc.

Picks 1 & 2 at the same club in the same year draft might well receive the same sort of exposure. Whether one goes at 1 or 2 or the other, IMO they'll be coupled in exposure. Initially No.1 might receive the initial accolades. However, they'll stick together in promotions.

They're just numbers for the record books. They'll handle it fine no matter which order Scully and Trengove fall.

Agree somewhat. However, Riewoldt in my opinion has lived up to his expectations, whereas Kosi whether through injury or sheer inconsistency hasn't quite lived up to expectations. My brother-in-law is mad St.Kilda, he often refers to Kosi in this manner. Whether that is right or not....who knows...everyone's opinion may vary.
