Pick 1 & 2 - Scully & Trengove

Pick ? - Tapscott

I desperately want to see Tapscott recruited along with Trengove.

My question for all of you who would like too see that happen.

What do we offer?

I dont think he will be there after Pick 8 if lucky. My suggestions are in order of preference.

1 - Jamar and Pick 11 to Port for Pick 8.

2 - Jamar and Jones to Port for Pick 8.

3 - Jamar and Rivers for to Port for Pick 8 and Pick 24.

Note: Port will most likely have Pick 9 also but we would require Pick 8 from them.

Think you are being very unfair to your own side with options 1 & 2 ... which amazes me in our young supporters.

I dont personaly think thers much chance of him going in the 1st 2 rounds to be honesthasnt eeven been realy mentioned here in his home state.Think maybe the Crows or Power would be looking at him in the 3rd round, thats where i think he will go.Think hes only just played a few senoir SANFL games but mainly U/182.Young lad here by the name of Mark Evans who has been playing in the middle in Norwoods league side is better in my opinoin.Bout the same size but hes hard at it & has been playing League, also named a rising star & in Norwoods best several times.Main thing is if we take Scully & Trengove 1 & 2 we will have no need for more mids,we must take a KPP or tall i think with 11 & 18

Jones is an obvious keeper for me. Watch him go up a notch next year. Jamar is no world beater but are we really in a position to lose him simply to upgrade 11 to 8?

I would be prepared to lose Jamar and Pick 11 to Port for Pick 8 if it is going to get us Tapscott which I think it will. I can see Port selecting Tapscott with there 1st round pick.

For all of those who think he will go 2nd round or 3rd round are kidding themselves. He is a a definite 1st rounder!

He looks a nice player but with Bate, Sylvia, Jurrah surely we have a lot of nice sized goal kicking marking forwards, and what we really need is some support for Watts. Only take him at 11 if he is that far clear of the best tall forward.

we may have quantity in our ruck stocks but we dont have quality. why you would to trade our best ruckman is beyond me. we will get someone of very good talent at 11. be happy with it.

and you want to trade jones? when we have already traded mclean? who gets the hard ball? think about it.

the crap that gets put up here during trade week is unbearable at times.

I like Jones and would prefer to keep him.

Jamar and Pick 11 is my 1st preference and close to my only preference. But would consider the other two trades.

It is rumoured that Jamar wants to return to SA. If so, deal quickly with Port for a good result! I am hoping the Dee's pick up Majak Daw and persist with Spencer & Johnson (had a bad year with turnovers but I do like his work ethic and is worth persisting with.)

And we have plenty of players to go through the midfield. Moloney, Scully, Trengove, Grimes, Valenti, Davey, Macca, Sylvia, Bate, Jetta etc.

I would be more than happy with either Tapscott or Panos with the 11th pick, hopefully one or both are still available at that stage of the draft.

Would'nt you be happier with both Tapscott & Panos? Not too mention Scully & Trengove. Awsome I would think!!!

no we dont.

from your list

moloney - proper midfielder,

scully/trengove - first year, first year,

grimes - defender/midfield pinch hitter,

valenti- rookie - prob wont be there,

davey - proper midfielder,

macca - 33 y.o. who will play out of the back pocket,

sylvia midfield pinch hitter/HFF,

bate - not really a midfielder - at best a winger,

jetta - not a midfielder.

etc = dunn, bartram, buckley - nobody inspiring

morton - will be our midfield gun.

bruce/green - will be important. but getting on. still happy with them.

strauss, blease, pick11 or pick 18 - yet to debut, so inexperienced, and not match hardened.

if that midfield is good enough for you then be prepared for 16th.

blease, strauss, scully, trengove have enormous potential for a wonderful midfield, but they need time to develop. you cannot put 3 of those and PJ in the centre circle and expect them win you the ball. nor will it assist their development. rich was so wonderful for the lions because he was the single addition to a sound midfield (and very mature physically). jones is reaching the stage where he can help those boys out. im not trading him for pick 8 when he himself is a pick 12, match hardened, and has had 3 years inthe system learning his craft.

i hope you watched the grandfinal and saw the work of hayes, selwood, and bartel. but for moloney and green not one player in that list above could do what those blokes did (at least not next year). jones will be integral to the team now. finals football is tough hard and uncompromising. those are the three words id use to describe jones. given the trade of mclean, he is simply to important to trade for a goal kicking HFF (i know nothing about this guy granted) prospective pick.

Jack Grimes is not a bit midfielder, he was an All Australian U18 midfielder, his natural position.

Opinion. I also doubt he'll still be available by pick 18.

Im of a different opinion but time will tell because i don think he will go that early,id think more Port or Crows 2nd round pick.Think thers far better & dont realy rate him as a top 20 but it all depends on what each club wants &needs.Apart from the top 4or 5 i think the order could go so many diff ways

I am warming to get Jetta rather than Tapscott. How do we get him? Ha Ha!

Very difficult I would imagine with West Coast with Pick 7. Damn! I like talent who want to come to the Dee's!

Either would be great but not likely.

Agree with your sentiments. Some people seem to think that the best footballers are the ones that have not played it ....yet !!

Just think back a year when people were putting James Frwley up for trade and look what happened to him !!

Nathan J ,Moloney are Hard Ball getters ,so was Brock. It was going to be difficult to fit them all in the team at once (for balance) Problem solved.:rolleyes:

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
