Serhat Temel – 194cm, 89kg – 5 Dec 91 – Calder Canno

Also apparently those 8 goals all came in the second half! after scores were nearly even he turned the match on its head by kicking 8 goals after half time!

And i think he has now kicked 19 goals in his last 3 games?

Apparently stronger than Carlisle

Great work mousey, always bring sum info to the table... I asked sum1 I know who is involved at the cannons just now, they said they had limited direct work with him but rates his talent, should become a power player. He's personal opinion is that a lot will come down to interviews with this kid cause he's a bit up n down on attitude/application but how good he gets depends on the attitude he brings... On a side note to that, I kinda think we need a young bloke like that. Reason being is these r often the enigma types who r a touch arrogant but in the right environment can flourish a la fev, buddy, even the duck! We've recruited a lot of 'leadership' material young blokes of late in grimes, watts, scully etc, mayb sum raw arrogant talent can be managed well by us given the culture we are building? Dunno, just a thought

I agree mate and good job finding out what you could find out! Appreciate it!

the flaws your mate said can be worked on and worked out under the right atmosphere, and i have no doubts our atmosphere at the club is positive with a lot of 'good' kids at the moment.

Like i said dont know too much about him but is a forward prospect in the draft where we will no doubt pick a forward up with pick 18.

The talent of forwards that could be available at 18 is making me slide Butcher off my draft list.

Carlise, Talia, Ben Grittiths, Temel and others...

Ill wait till the Draft Camp to fully jump off the Butcher bandwagon but at the moment im only just hanging on with Trengove and Morabito shoving me off.

Some players like Taylor Walker and Patrick Dangerfield. Both were very arrogant and had attitube problems untill Craig to them under his wing. Although Taylor is hateing football life because its 24/7 so to speak.

LOL

Serhat will be lucky to be a late pick/rookie listed.

He needs to significantly improve on his mobility (although given that he has lost a stack load of weight, this has helped him get to more contests) and football awareness.

Yeh thats what i keep hearing too......very slow...

Saw him play a game for Coburg 2nds this year (in a deal that allows U18 players to play selected games with their VFL affiliates). He absolutely dominated and kicked 5 goals on the day. From what I gathered when asking about him, he is older than most U18's (I think each U18 TAC Cup side can have 1 or 2 over-age -over 18 - players on their team). That may be why he is dominating in his 'extra' TAC Cup year. Looked a likely type though. Was quite mobile and very impressive in the air. And of course that great name... Probably showed enough for a club to take as a rookie at least, but didn't scream out 'select me I'm a certainty to make it.'

After watching this guy play over the last two weeks- Yes I agree-we definately should look at picking him up .Not only he has a body that can really be developed. He is tall, great penetrating straight kick ,great under th knees and does one thing that John Butcher doesn't seem to do- try his guts out. Hope he can keep his great for going for another two weeks as he has been the matchwinner in the last two.

I would consider taking him with a fourth round pick or a rookie but I don't think he has what it takes to be a dominant AFL forward. He has more muture body than most of the guys he is playing against and if you watched the last couple of games you would know most of his goals have come fom him pushing off his opponents with strength, I don't think he has the pace or endurance to be a very good AFL forward.

High tower- that is correct 15 goals in the last 2 weeks, play a game for Coburg 2nds this year. He absolutely dominated and kicked 5 goals. Looked great,He then ,to me showed outstanding promise, quite mobile and very impressive in the air. .' Very strong type, whom is really good beneath his knees.Ithink will make it as a tall forward, either CHF or FF. Had Jason McCarthy last Sunday speak to him and James Lawson, telling them where to position there bodies. Therefore, he must also see something in these blokes.I saw Adam Goodes kick many goals in an under 18 Grand final. He ended getting picked up by the Swans- the No. 43 pick in the 1997 AFL Draft, Sydney's third round draft pick. I rate him as good as him at this time in his career. No 18 pick for MFC would do me very nicely.

I also saw Adam Goodes in that U18 Grand Final. To me, that day he stood out like a beacon. He had a short pony tail if memory serves me correct. I haven't seen this guy play and I'm only guessing he's being scrutinised closely. However, kicking 8 then 7 goals in the U18 finals series is no mean feat. He's the right height for a KP player and might want to be monitored more closely. I wonder if he will attend the camp.

I'm sure we don't need any reminders on Steele Sidebottoms form in the U18 GF last year and his game last Saturday night. He's a big game player.

I haven't seen him play but Temel gets a glowing report from Kevin Sheehan in today's HUN. The article says he's been a standout because of his athleticism.

"His agility is surprising. He's got a great set of hands and then he moves so well laterally. He's got a wonderful feel for goal. For a big bloke he really does have great goal sense."

Sheahan's views seem to read contrary to what many others are saying about Temel, particularly those who question his athletic capacity and his ability to test well at draft camp. The results of that testing will be very interesting.

As I STATED EARLIER REMINDS ME OF A YOUNG GOODES. TEST WILL BE TODAY. COACH WILL PUT A BIG PLAYER ON HIM TODAY- SEE HOW HE GOES.and again today, when he played to go into a ground final was a little Franklin like, Kicked two goals and is in a Grand final versus Scully.

Serhat also is very good at putting his body in a better position than his opponent in one on one marking contest, in the body on body contests his very smart in allowing his opponent under the ball.

He's not quick but does lead hard and he will chase defensively when the opposition try to clear the ball out of their defensive 50.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
