Anyone notice him 3rd up in the ruck in the third I think it was?

He jumped so high he had to punch it in out in front of his nipple and I was still out of reach of all others.

I reckon he'd give that standing and running vertical leap a scare if he had have gone to draft camp.

Was it the back of Raph Clarke's head he saved by sticking that mitt out and raking it back? Who ever is was turned with the expression WTF? The last place he looked for the ball was in Jurrahs hands. He obliged by showing it to him. Classic!

The only problem I have with Jurrah is that I now expect something magic everytime the ball is near him.

I don't expect magic everytime the ball goes near him, it just happens! Gotta love it, what a sublime talent. Great recruiting MFC and well deserved praise for Liam Jurrah.

In the last 20 years I have seen three players who have really excited me when they first started. They look the sort of players that could take an opposition apart on their own and often did.

Jakovich

Farmer

Schwartz

Jurrah goes very close to that bracket. If he develops into that quality of player then we have got someone very special..if he isnt that now. Clearly underdone without a pre season unde his belt. But next year if he is fully fit. He is certainly one to watch.

Still room for Scully, No 2 pick, Watts, Blease and Strauss, Morton to turn it on next year.

Jurrahs is amazing and don't we love him. Obviously a demon favourite - has taken my girls 4 weeks to get badges of him at the games!

Even the opposition supporters appreciate his ability.

There was a game at Casey where he did (from what you've described) a similar thing. I was blown away.

It will be interesting to see how he (jurrah) copes with being the new number 1 target for the opposition backmen next season, personally i think he will relish it

he will love it the best thing about him is his arrogance he knows he is good and he isnt afraid to tellthe opposition about it

i remember the freo game where a dockers player dropped a mark and liam told him 2 use 2 hands classic stuff

Yes there is a bit of the Jakovich X Factor in the Jurrah boy isn't there.

Maybe no 13 for next year??

i reckon give him robbos old No. 24 keep the exciting number going!!!

Posted (edited)

If we're going to change his number then personally i feel 13 is a better fit, with Robbo leaving the club i sort of feel we should either give his number to a new guy or retire it for a year.

He should keep 48. Cult figures need cult numbers.

He just makes me smile.

Thanks to all the Dees supporters who have embraced Liam in his first year of AFL footy. He's at a great club, and I truly reckon he'll be much, much better next year after he's completed his first pre-season training. He's absolutely loving his time at the Dees, surrounded by a great bunch of teammates and coaches. I've said it before, but i'll say it again...the best is yet to come!

Good work RudeBoy. Tell him to enjoy his break and we look forward to seeing his many special moments in the future. Truly a bright light in what was otherwise a dull season.

Obviously you guys had bigger fish to fry today but l do wish he could have been left one out at deep forward all day. He looked really up for it today, could have ended up with 7 or 8 and a huge addition to the highlight reel.
I said last week that he would kick 6, he could have easily kicked 8 had he been left up forward. Bailey's experimental moves went into swing before half time. I have been keen on Jurrah since drafted.

Everyone has been keen on him since he has was drafted. It's the most obvious talent we have had in a long long time.

Don't you just love it when RudeBoy says "the best is yet to come".... X factor alright. I agree with some posters thoughts relating to Jackovich and Farmer. I sense that everytime these guys are in the vicinity of the ball, anything can happen and more often than not it is the unexpected. 9 games in and Jurrah already has a highlights reel a mile long.

Perhaps you would be so kind as to pass on to Liam how much the Melbourne supporters care for him and that we are truly excited he is one of us. We look forward to sharing his football success with the Dees.

I'm liking #48. Who says he needs a lower number?

Yeah I agree let him make it his own as he is soooo unique.....48 Crash!! Go baby the best is yet to come.....

Don't worry Rude Boy We love him alright, make sure you pass on our encouragement. His one handed mark & First goal today was just sublime.

I hope Liam has a great off season & is ready next year to really kick on next year.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
