Surely the hangover has worn off, or are you going to the bank to check you have the amount you drunkenly donated to DD

Yeah I went on Saturday night it was a ripper of a night. I ended up buying something in the silent auction. Can't tell you how much they raised for the night although I would assume it was between 100 - 200K. They had a band play and some light entertainment (Lazer Man). The cover band was good, they played that song "Tonights gunna be a good night" which was a hit. All the players were there and alot of hot girls. They sold a Volvo for 33.5K - which was a bargain. The main was a porterhouse stake (very tender). Tables service with unlimited amounts of Carlton Draught Stubbies, Wines and Champas made for a good evening.

Sounds like a great night. Were there any guest speakers or anything like that?

Would've loved to make it, but, $195... way too steep for me. I'm barely getting by as it is... lol

Hahaha - thats brilliant...

Saw a photo with John Burgess there... Didn't know he was a Demon...

Isn't he a good friend of Hayes?

Was a great night. Highlight for me was seeing Matthew Whelan bid in the silent auction for the seat in the 2010 team photo!

Priceless - Nice to see he has a sense of humour.

Thanks for the feedback

Went to the ball on Saturday night and it was well attended and run... There was probably about 500-700 people there including all the players (although I didn't see Watts but he was probably on the otherside of the room)

The club raised maybe 120K from the auction items (i'm guessing) which I assume were all donated... I tried for the dinner at Riva for 5K but got blown out of the water when it went for about 7K something.

It was great to go to a club function like that (it was my first) but hard because you want to talk to these players like normal people but you know exactly who they are and want to talk to them without making a douch of yourself... Most of the players were great with only Brock seeming more intersted in getting [censored] than having a chat with the attendees.... I was really lucky as my missus actually went to the devils advocate function early this month and sat next to Chris Connelly and a few of the players like bennel and Frawley at that dinner so I was introduced to all of them and they were just excited about were the club was heading...

Although it was expensive I can recommend it to all (maybe try for a cheaper event)... Attending an event like this just makes you feel like part of a suburban footballl club with everyone just there to have a great time and support their club... I'll be trying to get to another couple of events as I rated this one highly

I have the silent and main auction items in a pdf file but it won't let me upload them.... I have to ask the administrator about the upload directory.... If anyone can help I'll put the files on the site

HAHA probably... I was talking to nat jones who said that his role has changed in the last eight weeks and they wanted him up forward to help with the contested work... It looked like Brock had his job and didn't like it much

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
