We lack quality forwards we lack pacey midfielders of high quality.

We are behind the eightball in so many ways not just on the field.

After hearing Brock speak on Sunday about the full time weights coach for the first time the club has within the footy department since Brocks first year, it really hit home how good opposition clubs have it and how Melbournefc have had to do things half baked, due to a lack of resources.

Spot on........midfield class, and forwards are our weaknesses.

I heard Brock's comments too, and it was sad to hear we can't offer our players all they need to perform.

I've always had a fear we don't develop our players to their full potential, and a lack of resources is the reason.

We won't be 1-10.

We have heaps of players coming back, it is very likely we will win 1-2 games over the next 6 rounds.

We are not a 1-10 team at the moment.

You might be forgetting we have opposition over the next 6 rounds also. Decent opposition.

This year we are actually training on a ground that has goal posts!

Players no longer have to finish on ground practice and then drive for a hour to a 3rd rate rundown weights room to do their weights. What a farce that is.

There are no two full time development coaches as well.

People do not realise how far behind the 8 ball MFC is with regard to off field resources. Compared to WCEs set up and the Lexus centre, MFC had little.

bloody hell that is just shocking.

The only teams I can see us possibly beating this year are WCE, Freo and Brisbane in Melbourne and perhaps Richmond again. Without studying the fixture, I can only see us winning 3 at the most more games this year. The younger players that have played so far will soon run out of steam (Jetta and Bennell in particular), and the ones yet to play (Watts, Strauss etc) won't be game winners for a season or two at least. I hope to see continued improvement from our mid teir players, overall "competitiveness", good skills under pressure and gametime into as much of our list as we can. The fact we have made the 30,000+ members mark shows that supporters of the MFC know where we are and where we ae going, and that is good to see.

the priority pick would make my year. its our last chance for decent picks before gold coast comes in. theres no point in winning more than 4 games. if we do, i'll be so [censored] off

I agree, We need these picks before the draft is comprimised. Three more wins for the year would be nice though. My choices would be in order 1. Collingwood, 2.Essendon and 3.Carlton

interesting ..the HUn is running a poll... Dees fans..rather 10 wins or Priority pick. For mine Im amazed theres only a 15% lead ( at present ) in favour of the pick. Would have thought it a no-brainer.

There will be a sweet irony as at seasons end and after the drafts Melb ought to be in a better position looking towards the next 5-10 years than Carltank . The Blues will be short on quality draft pick ups for a while. Im sure we'll give an appropriate wave ) or similar ) as we sail past :)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
