Warnock's report

True Believer

Was a weak report to begin with, and a usual over-reaction from the umpire.

By the way, was I the only one who nearly threw up when bloody McLaren popped up in the game when the other umpire went down? That idiot just will not go away.

And of course the AFL are not taking any action against him, although he clearly fended off a Collingwood player during the match!

Scotty, Scotty.

He's in my good book at the moment though. Boundary throw in right in front of me - I called out "Scotty, give us a free, c'mon mate" and then "pick one out" or something along those lines. Sure enough, at the next contest he pulled one out.

One of the worst day's umpiring I've seen in a while. We got so many unwarranted frees. Still trying to figure out what Petterd's free was for in the pocket

I had a good veiw of it, he was being held, as the ball floated over his and Newmans heads he tried to move for it and you could see his jumper being stretched, it was pretty soft though, much like a few others we got

No you're not Jaded, I too almost cried when I saw McLaren come off the bench. I quite dislike the man.

As for the Collingwood incident, I disagree with you. Both player and umpire were running to the next contest, both seemed to have their eyes on the ball, and as McLaren neared O'Bree, he reflexively raised his arm. The contact was negligible. Comparisons between this incident and Heath Shaw's are ridiculous: one was intentional, the other wasn't. I have no problem with the AFL taking no action.

Yeah as per usual the umpiring was inconsistent. The free paid to Nathan Brown that gave them their second goal was atrocious.

My dad saw McLaren with his young children in a park near Balwyn. My dad said he couldnt believe it when he saw the kids having a kick of the footy while 'Daddy' was umpiring the same way as if he was on TV. "No you've fallen into his back..thats a free..can't do that". What a [censored]. Pity those children

It's my wifes fault. She'd only just finished pointing out that he was emergency/reserve or whatever they call 'em selves when the other bloke went down and he popped up.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
