Changes for next week against Richmond

you cant have spencer and meesen in the one team surely

Why not? Surely they couldn't be worse than PJ who is supposed to be a ruck-rover type but he usually can't get the ball and has little idea when he does. I had high hopes that he would come on this year but now I am convinced he is just another list clogger. If Meeson and Spencer are going to be the ruck future of the club why not let them learn the hard way this year when their bad games will only mean we get beaten by a couple more goals rather than in a year or so when it might make the difference to the 4 pts

In: Maric, Spencer, Junior

Out: Sylvia, Meesen/Johnson, Jetta

Spot on. But leave Meese in. He was commendable against a good ruck duo. I`m a PJ fan but he is very ordinary this year bordering lazy or extremely unfit. Jet unlucky but he has had a taste and needs a couple of weeks in the magoos and Maric is a must next week. Junior a good swap for Sylvia who is a waste of space and I could not be arsed typing the reasons why he should not play seniors for a month.

In - Spencer, Wonaeamirri, Maric

Out - Johnson, Dunn, Sylvia

Johnson being omitted is a must. He showed no endeavour for the ball, and when he had it he disposed poorly. Keep Spencer and Meesen as the two rucks until Jamar comes back for mine.

Love to hear everyone thoughts.

My thoughts:

Maric and Wonaeamirri both in (if fit)

Out- Dunn, Sylvia

I know he is frustrating, but guys, Sylvia will NOT be dropped. Only miss next week if susp. Was named in best and Ive said it before, we need all the senior players we can get atm, but yes I know he is frustrating! He showed a little bit today, just his effort seems to never be there. Its actually quite sad!

Wonaemirri still 2-3 weeks away!

IN: Maric, Mcdonald, Bail, Newton (if Sylvia suspended)

OUT: Jetta, Dunn, Bartram, Sylvia*

The Bail 4 Bartram more what Id like to see, however I think Bartram will play, im just not a big rap, far too defensive, gives us no real drive the other way!

I would not have him in the side even if fit but accept that he will come in. Will be for Dunn or Bartram.

Has Bartram been not to kick the football? He looks unconfident when he has the footy....always looking to draw man and give handpass. Not the same player from 2 years ago when he started like a jack-rabbit.

A couple of people have suggested dropping Bruce and Milller.

Miller- worked his but off today. tried sooo hard. If he played for a half decent team he would've kicked 7 today. A few times he made perfect leads only for Mclean and others to miss him. Also laid off a couple of times he could'v goaled himself. He bleeds for the team each week, more than most others.

Bruce- is probably our best player. rediculous suggsetion to drop him.

McLean laid 8 tackles today, far and away more than anyone else on the field on either side. There is absolutely no chance in the world he will be dropped on the back of that.

He's been under the pump on this site lately, but I don't care what anyone thinks; 8 tackles is the epitome of midfield pressure.

They were pretty critical of Sylvia on SEN but he was named in the best on the club website.

In: Maric

Out: Jetta

McDonald, Robertson and Whelan are obvious selections if fit.

Bailey said at interview that Robbo and Whelan would need at least 2 x 100% game time in Casey 1's before being considered.

For me:

Out: Sylvia, McLean/Jones (or both), Johnson

In: Maric, McDonald, Spencer

McLean's stats look good, but his kicking is very poor. Ditto Jones- witness the pathetic set shot at goal in 2nd term - a turning point.

I doubt Jetta will go - Bailey has mentioned him every week in post match press conferences - he's a favoured one.

How many possessions once the game was over?

2 cheap goals in the last quarter.

Padding his stats.

bruce went forward in last 15 mins one of the only players to not drop his head all day seriously have a good look by far in our best 2

or second to the ball

OUT: Johnson, Petterd, Sylvia

IN: Spencer, McDonald, Maric

OUTS:

Paul Johnson is one of my favorite players, and i've always been biased towards him, but he has just been crap this year. Looks like he's carrying an injury of some sort, as i'm not sold on him being 'just lazy'. He's never shown to be lazy in the past, and his work rate and pace is waaaay down on last year. At times it looked like he was moving in slow motion today. Spencer should come back into the side to give PJ a break and/or a big kick up the arse. It's now or never PJ, with the lack of experience in our ruck division, he reallly should be stepping up, but sadly has failed miserably thus far.

Petterd is an intersting one, i really like him and rate him as a player, but he's failed to make any impact since his good performance in round 1. Was shifted to defence later in the game to get the ball into his hands, but did little to really hold his spot IMO. His kickout to Rivers in the pocket that went out of play was laughable.

Sylvia, well, as is the way with him these days, just didn't do enough. Not sure if he'll get dropped, maybe Jetta might go instead, but i know i'd give him another run at Casey if i were DB.

IN:

Junior will come back in if he's fit, Maric was apparently very good again at Casey for the 2nd week in a row and deserves his chance sooner rather than later. Spence will need to replace PJ in the ruck. Pretty straight forward changes for mine.

Out: Sylvia, Johnson

In: Maric and Spencer

McDonald will come in too. So:

In: Maric, Spencer, McDonald

Out: Sylvia, Johnson, Jetta

They were pretty critical of Sylvia on SEN but he was named in the best on the club website.

Rubbish. Sylvia was yet again ineffectual yesterday. I would love to know how the club or whoever wrote that article came to the conclusion that Sylvia was one of out best.

It's a joke that Sylvia is in the bests. He would have featured in the worst 3 that Triple M do.

McDonald will come in too. So:

In: Maric, Spencer, McDonald

Out: Sylvia, Johnson, Jetta

good changes

will be interesting to see what they do if he doesn't get suspended.

In: Maric, Spencer, Junior , Newton

Out: McLean, Meesen/Johnson, Bate

Very harsh on Bate IMO. He tried bloody hard yesterday and took some great grabs.

For the first time in your life you are 100% correct. His season so far has been pathetic, his season last year wasn't much better it was just that every other player was worse. Played on Gray early and got a bath missed a goal when we were still in the game like last week against Collingwood he is a junk time specialist.

IN : MARIC, MCDONALD, NEWTON, SPENCER

OUT: SYLVIA (SUS), P.JOHNSON, PETTERD, DUNN

I'd keep Petterd in, in my opinion he is more reliable than Newton.

Sylvia's report was thrown out if anyone's interested

I prolly am a bit harsh I just think he needs a kick in the bum.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
