Second Major Sponsor is...

Featured Replies

Believed to be worth 3 million dollars.

The deal was struck from one of our influential members at a Kazakhstan bellydance joint. No Joke. SEN sauce.

Very Nice, I like very much!

this is awesome

Does that mean kapersky's logo goes on teh back of our jumper?

2008 - AFL $1 mil MCC $500,000 Primus $1 mil = $2.5 mil

2009 - AFL $1 mil MCC $1.25 mil New Sponosrs $ 1.7 = $3.95

That works.

In these tough economic times, this is a sensational effort.

Other clubs will be very envious. Vlad must now take notice that the MFC is the real deal and our road to recovery is well and truly on track.

Jimma, Schwabby and the Board are to be congratulated unreservedly.

Hopefully a new air of confidence will go through the entire club and be reflected on the field.

For all those who want to support our new sponsor you can have a FREE trial that works 100% for 30 day. IF your using some of those othe AV programs you will see a huge difference in the speed of your PC. Try it here, http://www.kasperskyanz.com.au/googleads/

Brilliant!

Having a genuine feeling that your club is actually going to survive in its current form (the MELBOURNE football club!), is the absolute best thing that has come out of these sponsorship deals.

Go Dees... For another 150 years at least :)

Maybe Cameron Schwab's a chip of the old block. Or the late Billy Snedden has had a profound influence on the club. ;)

Well done to those involved.

Totally agree with you Jaded.

Well done by Cameron Schwab & Co. Although just in time is great to have 2 solid three year sponsorships which are unlikely to become stressed in next couple of years AND both have products we all need so we can suppport them directly!!!

Look forward to the MFC building on this foundation during that time!

Now...... onto the footy!

We might actually break even this year!!!

I wonder if PM has anything to say now? or any proof of the "potential" sponser(s) he had lined up. Well done to the current admin/board!

I knew it.

A new brand of toilet paper manufactured in the Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan by members of a collective farm related to and introduced to Cameron Schwab by Borat, our magnificent #27 ticket holder.

Wins nearest to the pin.

Wrong product but correct country of manufacture and what a great idea it was to have those belly dancers grinding away on the collective farm.

Yippee! Great news!

The article on the website says that Hankook will be on the front, Kaspersky on the back. Sounds like that's a permanent thing.

And $5 million over three years is superb, all things considered.

If anyone is wondering why this deal is more than the Hankook deal it would have to do with the fact that the back sponsorship is larger and easier to see on TV, and also the reference to 'coaches' sponsorship' probably refers to advertising on the coaches' box with is constantly panned to by 7 and 10 during games.

As an aside, (a rather large aside) given the extra finances we have secured - pointed out by Hannabal above - and our very managable salary lay-out, we might be out of debt in the next three years.

If anyone is wondering why this deal is more than the Hankook deal it would have to do with the fact .........

From realfooty.com.au:

Schwab says Melbourne, which is working to eradicate a big debt, expects to make a profit this season.

Heavens, what a turn around. :o

2008 - AFL $1 mil MCC $500,000 Primus $1 mil = $2.5 mil

2009 - AFL $1 mil MCC $1.25 mil New Sponosrs $ 1.7 = $3.95

That works.

Was Primus tipping in $1 million last year? I thought it was around $1.5 million for the two logos - anybody know?

No, it was $1m.

Makes it all the more impressive, but with Essendon, Collingwood, and Carlton getting so much from their sponsors, it drives ours up aswell.

So... I guess we should thank them...

Maybe not.

GO YOU MOTHERF***ING DEMONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 million combined over three years is bloody unbelieveable!

It seems that American Antivirus doesn't prevent spyware as they feel it is not virus based whereas Kaspersky does include antispyware according to their web site

Protects from all types of malware and spyware
http://www.kaspersky.com.au/content.aspx?p...23&menuid=6

I'll give the trial a go and see about a purchase or two.

I have been using it for years

The last company i worked for used Kaspersky as well. The dude i worked with recommended it to the boss and there were no problems.

much better than many other antivirus programs i have used.

runs quietly in the background, you dont even notice it most of the time.

doesnt take much in the way of system resources to load either, when compared with other software out there.

Bloody Brilliant...well done to all.. a fantastic example of right bloke right place right time.. a big thankyou :)

We can all take a collective deep breath and a sigh of relief !!

On a funny note..I will thank my partner tonight for renewing her AV the other day..yep you guessed it Kaspersky...but the punchline...she follows "that" team !!!..and her money is now helping to sponsor..OUR team.. :)

Go DEES !!!!

Izzz Melbourne...Izzz good DA !!

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
