certain supporters mite only go to 3or 4 games a season, so they buy one at the first game attended, iv bougt memberships before and only been to a handfull of game because other commitments.

I've had a Melbourne membership for years and used it a handful of times because of my MCC pass, and people have a go at MCC members...

is a bit of an odd one in a fashion. I am one who will only manage 4-5 games a year..( thats just life) but I buy mine asap . The knew pay monthly direct debit is terrific idea. At least I can choose or go as per opportunity. More ought to try that..that is the ones who hang off :)

bloody amazing really.. that we got any..

Did Sunday stop our membership campaign dead or is the club readying for the big 30?

The membership counter was ticking over regularly last week!

Not long now. Go Dees!!

Let's get 50,000+ on Sunday!!

Some promotion for this game will be handy.....do you hear me....Garry Lyon Chops!

Little Gazza should bring in 20,000 alone on Sunday....

50,000 supporters to the game to watch Gary Ablett chalk up 50 touches on the same day we sign our 30,000th member.

Nice

48 more members till we get to 30,000. We are gonna get there. Well done to everyone who signed up in another down and out season. We all deserve a pat on the back. To top it off lets beat the cats for the biggest upset in history. CMON DEES MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Well tucked inside this article Stynes backs Bailey is the announcement that we had cracked the 30,000 mark. "While the Demons kicked an off-field goal by reaching their target of 30,000 members last night" Just brilliant :)

official verification via mfc site probably a little later. Well done to all.

Absolutely fantastic!! Well done to everyone who maintained the drive and commitment to achieve this fantastic result. 10 pages on this thread shows how important it has been to many, many people in the Demon Family.

Great work from the club!

Does anyone have the figures for other clubs? Would be good to know how we compare to the rest in the league. I found it interesting to hear that St Kilda were aiming to hit the 30k mark this season. Quite amusing taking into account the performance of both teams this year.

We can beat the Tigers on the field ... lets whip their butts of the field.

Gives us a target of around 36,000 plus ... if everybody does their bit we can do it.

I didnt realise garry was on our promotional staff.. how about the supporters take some responsibility and turn up, rain hail or shine.. 14000 last week was a disgrace. Until we start turning up, then we deserve the barbs directed at us.

Done. 31,000, here we come.

Unfortunately for us, this weeks game against the Cats isnt going to help the cause. Perhaps if we can keep Ablett to under 50 disposals and 5 goals then we may sign some more.

Check previous page(s) of this thread, I will post another update soon. Some clubs haven't updated their numbers yet (not as efficient as the mighty Dees!), thought I would wait until early next week. If time permits, before the weekend.

Dees tally now at 30,032!!

Onwards and upwards Demons! Let's finish off around 31k and aim for 33k next year! If we can move on up to a base membership of 35k in the next couple of years, and then when we're winning a lot more games work on converting those memberships to better quality ones for the club, we're looking good.

This is why it is important to keep playing young players, it gets supporters excited about our future, that is why we will see Watts, Bail and if he can get fit Strauss along with more of Maric, Grimes. If you play the kids and we can see potential we put up with losing.

It's not only the kids, but the style of play we can see coming through. When it all comes together, then that will be exciting

Everyone down at the club as well as all the volunteers involved in the memberships drive/s deserve a round of applause. The job isn't over yet but 30k by April/May off a spoon season is fantastic work.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.
