Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Not sure how Prismall could be 'legless' at the Geebung about a week after a knee reco.

And if he is, it's not a great ad. for his services!

Who said he was 'legless' ? So he'd had a few beers after a long season, when he knows he's going to miss another GF and possibly a premiership, coming off doing a knee and won't start his proper rehab til November.

With clowns making uninformed disparaging remarks from afar it's no wonder some players have contempt for the general public.

Something about Garry Hocking's No.32. Moloney wore 32 at the Cat's. So does Prismall!

The comparison to Moloney makes me shudder. Moloney's been an injury riddled mess since he came to MFC and hasn't had one tenth of the impact expected of him and his lack of run almost renders him completely useless in the modern game. Yes he was a good player when he was fit, that doesnt make the return any better though.

Im all for getting Prismall if its cheap, Im trying to block all comparisons to Moloney out of my head though, the Moloney trades been a disaster.

He's only 24 Torp. I'll admit we haven't got a great return yet but there's still time

Thanks for the heads up Dad. The 'legless' bit was a pun on his knee reco

Does any one no how we got Moloney and for what. And what pic through the draft did geelong get him at?

Geelong got him in the PSD, we got a first round pick (12?) for Scott Thompson and then ontraded that to Geelong for Moloney, who ontraded that and their first round pick for Ottens.

Where do you get off turning a reference to the 32 on these players back into a slagging off of Brent Moloney?

He's a 'mess', and he's 'useless'?

Come on, mate.

Poor form.

Where have I slagged off Brent Moloney? Talk about a way to twist words.

I said he's been an 'injury riddled mess' which I'm sure he'll agree with & that his lack of run almost renders him useless - not that he is useless. If Moloney lost a couple more yards he'd be unable to play AFL, he's already the slowest player on the ground when is he playing.

None of this is a reflection on Moloney's character or an attempt to slag him off, thats just the way it is as a result of his unfortunate run with injuries.

The comparison was made to the Cat's Garry Hocking & his No.32, if were going to compare numbers and clubs of Moloney & Prismall I'd say its worth mentioning the fact that as a result of injuries the acquisition of Moloney has been a disaster and now we're looking at getting his No 32 successor when he has just done his ACL. I find the comparison by Dee tention completely off putting, not something to get excited about.

well then get out of the forum- because brent prismall is a very exciting prospect. You can't PREVENT doing an acl knee. it could happen to anyone

it's like McLean's broken foot/ankle injruy he had- you cannot PREVENT an injury like that

and Moloney's dislocated shoulder- YOU CANT PREVENT an injury like that

they will get themselves right, and play great footy

I never said Brent Prismall wasnt an exciting prospect, Im all up for obtaining him for a good price.

I said the comparison to Moloney isnt exciting, its completely off putting. The Moloney trade was a 100% disaster, on a scale of 1 to 10 that trade is a 0. If you want to spruik Prismall why the hell would you compare him to Moloney? A player whose managed 25 games in 3 years? Why would obtaining another player with that sort of return be something to strive for?

You cannot PREVENT having your AFL ability severely compromised by inury either, an injury like that could happen to anyone. Its not nice but thats how it is and thus far Moloney is a prime example.

Moloney though has been hardly done by. OP- he got over that, was playing good footy for the month until he did his shoulder against the hawks- in which up to 3 qtr time when he did he popped his shoulder out ina contest, was probably our best- against arguably the best side. He will have a ripper year next year with a full pre-season for once- something he hasn't had, and touch wood he doesn't sustain injury again.

He's handy, but a very one dimensional player.

It's great when supporters of lowly clubs argue about the merits of C graders. Not much else to discuss though.

Any player plagued by injuries is hard done by, whats that got to do with the price of fish?

He is not 'over' the OP. He can barely muster a brisk jog. He's managing the OP, barely.

mate he's over the OP..hence why he played this yr..and played good footy.until, oh wait, his shoulder popped out- got nothing to do with his op- its all gone

Then why does he shuffle around looking like a cripple, whincing everytime he has to exert himself on foot? Why is he so much slower than he was 4 years ago? Why do his once penetrating kicks now go up instead of out? That was not Moloney back at his best this year, if you are satisfied with that then you are the one underrating him not me, he was a much much better player than that.

You seem to have to no understanding of OP at all, it is very rare for any player that has had ongoing OP issues to ever get 'over' it, in those cases OP is managed not cured.

 You do realise what you've just posted footage from? Moloney's last game of 2007, his season was ended prematurely due to... you guessed it, OP. That was after a huge string of games for Moloney, 4 in a row he'd played!, his OP was 100% fully recovered for those 4 games, however he was struck down with another bout of totally unrelated OP somehow, isnt it funny how it can do that.

no it wasn't 100% fully recovered. he played because half our list had injuries that actually prevented them with walking, look at luke ball- he's played with it before- as with moloney. However, end of 2007 he fixed it up, sometimes it just gets right, others it takes forver, but moloney is away from his OP days.

I work with Brent's mum and Brent has not left his house for the most of the last two weeks on account of the fact he can't given his rehab from his injury. His first outing was actually over to his mum's for dinner the other night, and is going to the GF on the weekend.

Seriously doubt he was in a bar talking about that sort of stuff in any event.

From what his mum reckons (Brent hasn't told her - so seriously doubt he would tell some random bloke in a bar) he has been offered his contract from the Cats and will most likely accept it given that he enjoys living down there and he and his girlfriend are settled down that way. Other clubs have still showed some interest in him, but he is more than likely to stay where he is.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
