Brad Green value on the market?

As the title suggests Green still hasn't signed a contract. While it is more probable that he is waiting for the season to conclude it does create some reason to have a discussion on his worth come trade time.

Earlier in the year when Fat Thomas came out and said Sylvia requested a trade to his hometown club of Adelaide  he also stated Brad Green would be packing his bags at the end of the year. Perhaps the latter part of this rediculous statement is true.

I love Brad but if we could get a pick in the top 20 for him just tell me where to sign up!

Neita, careful mate you could get lynched by the mob who are about to read this post. Green is in a great position to win the Best & Fairest this season. I doubt they will look to trade him, don't you?

This is purely hypothetical!

Still, it could be a good move on he and his management's part, that he leaves it until the end of the season with him on the verge of winning the B&F. Some bargaining power in other words.

Had McLean played a full year, he would of won it. Bruce and Miller (maybe Wheatley too), will be the dangers for Green in the Bluey.

if a good draft pick was offerred for Brad Green we should take it. Its all about the premiership window..by the time we get into the window Green will be past his best anyway, so Green will offer us next to nothing in terms of winning our next premiership.

You could of mounted a similar case for Shane Crawford and Hawthorn. The Hawks or Crawf could of parted company two years ago, ....now look!

this is all but just one of many examples.

brad green never was and never will be a brownlow medal winning shane crawford nor will he be the face of the club.

Well I received recently with the new MFC/MCC Premium membership renewal form for 2009 with guess who as the face of the Melbfc? None other than Brad Green. B)

DB has spoken of Bruce and Junior as leaders next year at the Club. Comments like that dont point to him going.

Green and MFC are a fair way apart on contract terms. If the contract is unsettled, he could walk to the PSD for nothing and presumably go West or to PA or we have an agreement to trade him. Alternatively we can re contract him for mutually agreed terms.

If if did come down to a trade I dont see Green or Bruce pulling a pick higher than #30.

so i was wrong about pickett being the wrong decision?

was i also wrong about trading yze when he had trade value?

or saying that bell was not in our 22

or being the first to suggest that daniher wasn't going to get a new contract?

people can disagree with the other stuff i say. For example, some demonlanders may think Miller will still be an AA CHF etc..but no1 can disagree with you Rhino coz u never say anything. sadly you do not have your own opinion on anything.

Given your party trick for wedging both feet in your football mouth with your big noting self promoting comments you might want to follow that line. There have been a procession of clangers this year Freak that I am starting to marvel at and set a compass by. Well done.

A top 20 pick for Brad green would be great, I doubt we could pull it off.

I agree.

What's the source? 'Inside word', or just the recent newspaper reports re: Green's contract? It sounds like you're making a statement of fact, but it's tough to differentiate your presentation of fact and opinion sometimes (cf. Bode in the other thread) :P

no more so than woey i wouldn't think.

Brings back memories. I had a bottle of Shane Woewodin Port. Brownlow Medal addition of course. When he went to Collingwood, I drank most of it one night..........eww it was ...(unfortunately to the descriptive nature we cannot process the intended words used by High Tower)

Nice try Freak. Fabricate statements that I did not even made.

Brad Miller is a work hard footballer that has limitations. He is hardly the worst AFL footballer whom you have villified over the years. Its amazing you bring him up. Your pathetic stand on Miller and his sterling efforts this ear should only advertise your great embarrassment.

As for addressing anything, beside big noting yourself you have remained a consistently content free zone that has been to the ongoing amusement of many.

Keep punching big hitter. Dont knock yourself out.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
