My Local Club

Recommended Posts

Just thought I would share a feel good story :P

My local football club Hackham Hawks, where I am the team manager of the seniors (and retired player) has won the Toyota/AFL Cash up your Club competition!

Channel 10 is coming down to the club on Thursday night to film a segment for 'Before the Game' (this Saturday night).... 'Fitzy' is interviewing our president and my mate who sent in the winning entry to the comp.... A representative from Toyota will be handing over the $10,000....

This is amazing.... I have attached the media release I was sent and it is worth a read.... You will soon see that we are worthy winners <_<

Also here is the link to the page on Toyota's website Winning Entry

Anyway, just thought I would let my fellow Demonlanders know that miracles do happen! And before anyone suggests it, I have already asked the president if we can donate the money to the Melbourne Football Club, but sadly his answer was not the one I was looking for :( Damn Crows supporter!

Nice one mate, congrats on the win.

It is pretty exciting really.... Will try and get my head on TV.... Might jag a role in Neighbours or H&A....:lol:

When a club loses 3 matches in a row with scores such as these....

63.29 v 0.1

65.32 v 0.0

66.41 v 0.0

I think they deserve a helping hand..... :o

I run the website and have stopped posting the damn scores.... It is beyond a joke :(

Rushed? :D

Congrats KrazyJay. Looks like your club does need all of the help it can get. That last score posted is a 437 point drubbing. :(

Yes, that last one was terrible.... We played the reigning premiers, who have won the last 4 flags.... Going for 5 in a row this season....

Here is our ladder position as of this week..... I can assure you it is a lot better than last season, where we finished with 239 pts for and 3780 against :(

P W L PF PA % Pts

14th Hackham 15 0 15 506 2832 15.16 0

Tonight should be a good night..... Fitzy will be giving us heaps of curry though, due to the fact that he played his junior football at a rival club....

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
