BTW heard a whisper the Dees will be aggressively seeking a big-name forward. Good source. We'll see...

Pavlich. He'd be fairly handy

Anyone know if Pav's out of contract?

to my memory i thought he signed on to freo last year cause i remember a lot of talk of him going to an adelaide team

So who's available apart from J. Brown? Glad Fev's got tied up!

When you have to quote yourself, you know the rumour is best kept to yourself.

We should not be trying to lure big fish as we are in a rebuilding stage and need all the high draft picks we can get.

Correct. Any talk about the getting the likes of Pavlich, Fevola, Brown is just nonsense.

Right or wrong, it's talk from within the club. Within the past week.

Ok , lets narrow it down then, well the "Big Name" forwards of the comp are Pavlich, Franklin, Brown, Bradshaw, Riewoldt, Roughead, Fevola, Mooney, Hall, Rocca, Lloyd, Hansen, Tredrea, Porplyzia, Richardson.

I can't see any of those being poached or traded.

Maybe the talk is Jack Watts.

Hansen is a Melbourne boy, city and club. He could be a chance, but his body continually falls apart.

Hansen is not a big name forward.

Pretty much a red headed version of Brad Miller.

I can see how this would be true.

Next year we will have plenty of room in our salary cap, and i think i heard somewhere that we have to pay a certain percentage of that cap (a friend of mine said 97% but wasn't sure).

If that is the case it is better to lure a player over rather than pay our current list more than their worth. Except that we might have to trade a player/pick.

Personally I wouldn't want to lose picks or players. And I wouldn't look for a Power forward (i can't see any of the current power forwards being right for us at the right price). Trading for some quality or pace in the midfield might prove easier and more beneficial.

I don't mind Hansen... he could be worth a look.

pavlich is over 23 and consequently not suitable for our young list.

Pavlich, Matthew

True. But he's West Coast's big name forward.

Yeah, so he's 26, turning 27 on New Years Eve, so what?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
