Who Should captain 09 Onwards?

I'm gonna make a bold prediction. I reckon, the Demons' next captain's name will start with "B"

Green for me. He worked on his physical part of his game last year and I believe this year it has shone through.

Brock or Green..

Id go green to be more deserving, he bleeds for our jumper!

But Brock as VC then next skipper..

Hmmmm.. big shoes to fill.

I'd be very happy if it was Miller or Green. Can't split the two as there is so much I like about them both.

I'll be pised if it's Brock.

My thoughts are Green, (only because he lifted his game to add courage), & definately Miller.

Leadership group of Green, Miller, McLean, Moloney, McDonald, Rivers.

no bruce

Bruce Green would have to be big favs then miller

mclean has little chance

and as for rivers welll he will never be captain

Macca in his last, then McLean.

Green would be alright, if he survives trade week.

The fact that Green wasn't voted into the leadership group this season by his peers suggests all may not necessarily be well amongst the players if he is made skipper.

Brock for sure!

Green and Miller the two standouts. Green gets my nod as he can do the job for 2-3 years whilst a long term leader is developed.

I'd love to say Brock was a candidate but he's a bogan who's offseason was poor to say the least. You need to lead on and off the field to be captain of an AFL club these days.

Green should get it, Miller could get it, McLean doesn't deserve it.

Apart from his preseason indiscretions, why not?

Green for captain with Miller for his deputy.

Leadership group that includes McLean, Rivers and Jones

Buckley? :D

Ooh, Bode :P !!!

juice....

'McLean doesn't deserve it'

LOL. Im guessing you all forgot the game against brisbane where he farked up his anke but STILL came back on and helped us get the win?

Brock has always had captain written all over him. Give it to him, don't delay it any further.

Time to Throw Brock in the Deep end ! Why wait for 2 years etc, give him the job and the responsibility will see him grow.

Agree. McLean would be ahead in the Bluey at that stage of the year, with Green. Pulled his head in considerably and worked very hard.

Green isn't a vocal leader, he has only recently become someone who leads by constant example. I think he would get voted into the leadership group if the players had it now, he really has been good this year.

But, McLean is a leader. Sometimes leaders can be d!ckheads and still be the right man for the job.
