he is only 21, dropped to the reserves recently and down on confidence. Does anyone think he would be worth trading for? In just his 2nd season he was awesome on the half back line, averaged 22 touches a game, kicked 17 goals for the year, ran the lines and finished 2nd in their best and fairest.

What a great idea, let's trade for yet another half back flanker. Guys who are not quite here or there so we play them on the HBF

andrew mcleod plays on the HBF. its still an important position. while Key position should be a preference, if Sherman got remotely back to his best...he would be a better replacement for whelan.

and with the PJ example, if we singled out every time a player made a mistake players like Miller would have been delisted years ago. I think sherman is worth a shot.

So does CJohnson, Petterd, Bell, Whelan, Frawley, Buckley, Green, Paul "the Pancake Maker" Wheatley, Bruce. I'd say we've got it covered. We need topliners, not another HBF

Sherman is an average player at best.

when u trade, you should do so for 2 reasons only.

1) to bring in a topline quality player onto your list

2) to bring in a good player who fills a specific hole in your list.

Sherman fulfills neither reason, and therefore should not even be looked at.

People should think before suggesting players MFC will realistically trade for.

i wouldn't kick it to morton if he was 50 metres on his own. he puts a blow torch to the ball every time he eventually decides to kick it. waste of a pick 4. should have got palmer. never pick players that are in between hieghts (190-192). versatility is over-rated, i prefer specialty in one position

Speed? If the cost was low, I'd definitely consider him. The kid can play. His speed is a weapon, he likes to run and carry breaking the lines and is clearly a confidence player. His currency is almost as low as his confidence at the minute. At 21, Bailey might like the challenge. His biggest issue has been finishing off his work when delivering into the forward 50.

yay some people thast know their footy. anyone under 22 that has had a top 2 finish in a best and fairest has some serious talent. he is a specialist half back flanker in my opinion whereas whelan, green, bell, frawley, buckley and bruce are either utilities (bruce), upcoming key position players(frawley), back pocket players(whelan) or midfielders(green).

One of my favourite players.

Completely dropped away since his first year for whatever reason, but has had success this year playing as a tagger. Potential is definitely there but his head doesn't always seem so switched on

We seriously lack creative runners from defence. Buckley, Bartram and Bell can run, but they aren't creative. If the price was no higher than a 3rd round draft choice, I'd take him.

completely flawed logic. according to this, fevola would be a good pick up? he is a star, that fills a need. It just goes to show that it is alot more complicated than 2 simple steps. age is an issue: sherman is still young.

Also according to you, melbourne footy club would not even look at players like shaun burgoyne, scott thompson, daniel kerr, bartel if they wanted out at their respective clubs because we already have those types of players at our club. Sherman could be to Whelan, bell, chris johnson etc as a daniel kerr is to nathan jones...an improvement!
