Who did you guys think was bog against hawks??

Lots of good idivual efforts all the way round.. the experienced and the young seem to be gelling a lot better now..

3 Votes = Bate for prescion skill execution and that kick arse tackle.. tried hard all day

2 votes = Aussie very inspirational stuff and made space like a bad smell lol forward pressure was great and sparked the boys

1 vote = couldnt split garland/Green garland for his poise and speed in the backline really started a lot of drive. greeny seemed to have a floating role so was expected to rack up possesions..but showed bravery a few times and kept a level head all day. and his feet.. made a huge difference to our backline.

Would do a poll but cant be fagged

yeah i agree with mclean .. thought brucey looked rattled all day and had some very dodgy disposals.. but i was more just wanting to see who people would vote for 3,2,1 style and what reasons..

I find it the easyiest way to see their opinions without any arguements lol

Brock,Green,Miller, Warnock all good games. Thought tackling and presure was fantastic today. Backline stood up and worked hard and together.WELL DONE MELB you showed something today. AND UP YOURS KENNETT YOU [censored]>

3 Bate Sadly missed in first 6 rounds and is getting better n better. Will win a Bluey within the next 3 years

2 McLean, Started us off in the 1st quarter with 13 possessions and was efficient all day without the usual clangers

1 Take your pick , Davey n Aussie awesome, Moloney best game for a year but I`d give it to Garland for stopping Buddy today. Most thought he would kick 10 today including myself

Jones must rate a mention.

Brad Green was great.... pity he isn't in leadership group, cos he would our next captain.

im going to really cop some here for saying this but i really hope greeny has a great year. If its true, that he wants to leave we will get mkore for him if he has a good year obviously. Somehow me thinks DB wants to keep him tho.

3. Bate

2. Jones

1. Aussie

special mention: Miller, Garland, Green and McLean.

He doesn't have much support on this board, but I agree with you. Some of his best games were as acting captain. I think he thrives with the added responsibility. Neitz rates his leadership qualities too, that's enough for me.

3- Mclean, just loved his game, phenomenal first quater.

2- Garland, great on Buddy. I was terrified of this game facing Roughead, Williams and Buddy without Rivers. The kid was great and really level headed.

1- Take your pick, Aussie, Beamer, Bate or Miller.

I don't want to bring the mood of this thread down because the boys all put in a great effort but I just don't know how long I can stand watching Jamar...

I remember more of Green's , Bate's and Aussie's possessions than I do of anyone else's. That's usually how I decide my B.O.G... if a bloke has only 15 touches but most are effective, goal saving/assisting possessions I think he has a lot more impact on the game than a bloke who has 30-35 touches that don't stand out in my memory bank.

So my Top-3 B.O.G's would be Green, Bate and Aussie (in no particular order). Taking nothing away from blokes like Brock, Miller, Beamer, Garland and Warnock though... all performed well.

No wonder he's not captain if he's not in the leadership group, doesn't work the other way around

McLean was our best today IMO.........didn't stop hitting in hard all day......I thought Moloney was excellent too.....best game I have seen him play for a while......he was tough in the middle all day.....26 touches and 9 tackles.......that's a fair days work!

Posted

yeah hard day to give votes lol ...and that was just our team..like to see what the snivilling snotty nosed umpires give there votes too..

cant all be hawks thats for sure...

how was mortons brother...

pity we didnt get more of them... they might have been cheaper by the dozen lol

McLean and Bate were both pretty good, Green and Bruce also had solid games. For me the performances of Garland (who now has taken the mantle of our best young tall defender), Wona, Buckley & Warnock were most pleasing. I had written off a couple of guys in that group, and I'm very, very happy to be proven wrong, hope it continues.

My most dissappointing effort was Miller late in the game. He was good early but with Holland playing injured it was a good opportunity to stand up in the last quarter - take some contested marks in the forward 50 and kick a couple of goals, sadly it didn't happen.

He teases us with glimpses of what he can achieve.

3 - Bate

2 - Buckley

1 - McLean

i dont think he is teasing... he just doesnt have the consentration.

how can brock mclean have more goals to his name in less games then our CHF????????????????????????

I thought Davey was second only to McLean as best on ground.

5 - McLean

4 - Davey

3 - Wona

2 - Bate

1 - Garland

Normally it's difficult to find 2 players that stood out, this week we had about 10-12.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
