Round 8 vs Adelaide

Bartram is picked in first 18 so will not be dropped

Jamar has played his best two games ever, been fantastic as you say but you still want him dropped.

Well I have always thought him to be hopeless but I would never drop him now.

He has the chance to prove us all wrong and I hope he does

I don't think it usaully matters how the team sheet is submitted, they can leave out whoever they like.

On a side note, has anyone considered the possibilty that Valenti was promoted because one of our other inside midfielders(Brock, Jones, etc) may be injured and we don't know about it?

pick holland soon as he is being mentioned for playing his 200th game every week in the footy record

haha ive noticed that as well. at least he is getting a lot of publicity for it ;) i cant believe someone at record headquarters hasnt noticed that yet lol its not like he has even been named as an emergency every week either...

At this stage I'd think Carroll was on thinner ice than Jamar.

Garland has been named at full back, with Carroll on the bench, and as mentioned we have a lot of talls in our defence.

I still think the three ruckmen set up can work, with White and PJ both operating almost as utilities.

Moloney named at HFF is also interesting, as far as you can take these positionings seriously.

I think it's got some credibility as an experiment, at the very least Moloney will quickly learn not to just bomb it long to nowehere because there won't be enough space ahead of him. Could also add an interesting dimesnion to forward pressure, Byron Pickett style. ;)

Yeah, unlucky Jamar, you have been decent, but PJ is simply better

Would like to see both Valenti and Buckley get a game at the expense of either Bartram or Bell who have been pants

IN: PJ, Valenti, Buckley

OUT: Wheatley, Jamar, Bartram/Bell

Agree - surely Buckley deserves a game ahead of Bell who has been out of form all year..

Isn't this the round where we supposedly start picking sides for the future? Maybe this is a signal that Bailey doesn't see Carroll as a long term full back. And he would be correct with this judgement.

It's generally the case that the guys named in the 18 play, though.

I think there was a fair signal in the off-season. Didn't we try and use Carroll as trade bait, but no one would come to the party?

Garland is pushing Carroll out of the team at the moment, which is promising for the future.

Wheatley and Carroll for Valenti and Buckley. This would take our over 24 yr olds to McDonald, White, Bruce, Green, and Robertson (5 out of 22). Another promising sign for the future. But 5 is as low as I would like it to go.

Buckley seems the logical replacement for Wheatley.

Jamar will definatley play meaning P.J will have another game at Sandy. They should not have 3 ruckman in the same team.

I hope Warnock gets a game ahead of Carroll his form is better.

Bode and Valenti are tough decisions for the last spot.

If they want to go defensive they should use Bode as another tagger on their guns in Goodwin, McLeod and Thompson\Edwards.

If they want to take the game on then they will need Valenti to get some clearances. Although it wouldn't surprise me if they keep the same team just replacing the injured Wheatley with Buckley.

I think Bruce will take Burton.

Bartram will take McLeod.

McDonald will take Goodwin.

Bell will take Thompson.

Warnock will take Tippett.

Carroll dropped. YOU RIPPA BOUT BLOODY TIME. Happy with the inclusions, we will still get belted though. Good luck Valenti you should have been in sooner. Hopefully Buckley can get rid of his Chisholm traits and turn it on cause he is very good at taking the opposition on with his run and carry.

I think Bruce will take Burton.

Bartram will take McLeod.

McDonald will take Goodwin.

Bell will take Thompson.

Warnock will take Tippett.

Bruce on Burtons a nice match up.

Mcleod will be on the backline so i'll go for someone who'll hurt him on the scoreboard. Davey, perhaps. ( My msg would be 'Stop being in awe and beat Mcleod')

Goodwins played a bit on the fwd line so maybe a Bell to follow him.

Jmac on Tyson Edwards.

Brock on Thompson.

Frawley on Tippett.

Green to make Johncock accountable.

Bartram onto Knights.

Doughty to tag Valenti.

Davey on McLeod could work but it is risky because if he is too loose he will tear Davey apart plus I like to see Davey play more in the middle.

I think Shirley will definately go to Brock.

I still think Warnock will go to Tippett.

Johncock will go to Aussie.

Bassett will probably take Green

Rutten on Robbo

Bock on Miller

Massie on Bate

Bartram may even go on Porplyzia if not McLeod.

Young side this week. Average age = 22.3

In fact, Brad Green is the only player over 24 and under 28.

You may be using last years ages because I have 23.2.

But the premise is right and very promising - there is 17 players selected this week that are 24 yrs old or younger.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
