"20,000?", says Bails, "It sounded like 70,000"

The atmosphere in the second half at the 'G yesterday was electric. We've all experienced hardship over the past 18 months, but we were finally rewarded for all the pain. It looked bleak at half-time, but full credit to us Melbourne fans for sticking around and supporting the boys. The noise we made in that last quarter was unbelievable - a very emotional experience for all involved. Yes, we're a small band of supporters, but we're loyal and deeply passionate about our team.

Great effort everyone!! Stick by the club, and to the supporters who weren't at the game yesterday, flock to the 'G for our big home game against the Hawks in a few weeks time!!

I agree. The hawks game in three weeks time is very important for the MFC because itis our home game and we can expect a crowd of 35-40,000 (maybe more if we upset the crows at AAMI) and this is a great opportunity to get some profit for the club with a good crowd, its also a good opportunity to see either an awesome upset like yesterday or at the very least, see a classy team in hawthorn play (and beat us probably) but atleast we'll see some good footy! lol

l tell you it was one of the most emotional wins l've ever seen and the best since we beat the tankers in the semi in 2000, l had my daughter on my shoulders and singing the theme song and had to stop myself from crying, it was beautiful. And supporters of other clubs think we have no passion for our club, how little do they know.

The atmosphere was incredible.

Truly one of the most amazing games I've been to. Even though the result means little, it was a huge victory for Bailey, the players and of course us. As long suffering fans, to experience such an amazing comeback and being surrounded by equally passionate supporters was just incredibely uplifting.

The way Hawthorn are going???

There will be at least 55-60 thousand people.

Yeah that'd be sweet. I love a big crowd, regardless of the result (unless its against the Filth (haha that's such a good name for them) cos I can't stand collingwood supporters) but yeah should be a good game if you compare it to round 1 lol

I am so jealous that I cannot be there for these kinds of matches.......

I didn't even get to watch it on the box given we had the Swans on two networks up here. So I was left to listening to the radio over the internet while watching that AFL live scoring gizmo, with that nervous pit in the bottom of my stomach. But I must admit to getting a bit teary when the song came up.

And with my birhday tomorrow, theboys have given me a truly great early present :D !!!

It really was a loud, crazy yet intimate atmosphere at the ground yesterday.

Full points to those who attended.

There were heaps of new 'Melbournefc' flags being waved all over the ground, did the club hand these out before the game? They looked fantastic in the second half.

Ah, Mondays are nice again!

Reminded me of the MELBOURNE crowd at the power game last year. Very proud of the Melbourne faithful, as passionate as any core supporter group of any team, without the extra 20000 bandwagon

I made the noise of a thousand that game, my throat is still F#$&ed. would do it again and again if it would lift the boys like yesterday. Never seen anything like it.

Good on the dees, and well done all the supporters for making the MCG rattle!!

lol. yeah I don't think I've yelled so much since I was at skilled stadium amongst all those ferals (in 2005 when the dees beat them by a point!!!) but I reckon all my "frustration yelling" in the 1st half was easily outdone in the 2nd half by my "celebration yelling" + my yelling out to my brother to get his attention amongst the thousands on the ground after the game! Thank God for that.. is there anything better than having a kick on the ground after your team's won.

The Result meant Heaps-don't underestimate that. The players now know how to "hunt and win" It's what Hawthorn made an Artform out of in the eighties and Nineties.

50 points is a HUGE turnaround!!!!

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
