Thanks 'rjay' - like I said, happy to hold onto for now and see if he can add some strength and endurance to his skill set.

While I haven't seen much of King this preseason, he showed enough (to me) when thrown in the deep end in the NAB Cup last year. He's the best kick of the rucks by a long way. Happy to hold onto him for now. Hoping Gawn has his breakout year, but he doesn't use his height to advantage yet which kinda defeats the purpose.

Great report thanks DeeMfc and much appreciated! Any thoughts on Stretch, ANB and the rookies? -
I think the club should 'invest' $10,000 in theme flags for the Geelong game. They can be handed out at the gate. On one side is the demon logo and on the other a huge bum with a picture of Mitch Clark where the hole should be. Where's DA when you need him for the visual? Of course I've moved on.

He has shafted 4 - he agreed to go to Collingwood and shafted them royally, so I think he's up to 5 clubs!

That's why I wrote 'doesn't hurt our chances' rather than - we'll win this. There's a difference! -

Elsternwick Park - anyone heard about this?
Roger Mellie replied to pitmaster's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree with you, but I don't think even the whole footy dept fit at AAMI Park. The current set-up could be described as adequate but not ideal, so I think they'll always be on the lookout for better options for the longer term, particularly if they can get the AFL/State Govt to cough up. -
I would dispute that. Michie is a good, reliable kick. Terlich is not.

Elsternwick Park - anyone heard about this?
Roger Mellie replied to pitmaster's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not sure if this is right but when we first moved into AAMI Park, it gave us everything we needed in terms of state of the art facilities but was not big enough to accommodate our coaching department (let alone the admin staff). The rent was also beyond our means. I don't believe it therefore sustainable over the long term. Added to this, we occasionally get chucked out when the circus is in town, then it makes sense to look for somewhere we have total control over, we can afford (or own) and have room to grow as the club does. -
Just to add. You can relay anything on your Phone, iPad, PC etc on to the TV with Apple TV wirelessly

I see under the Gold Coast entry that O'Meara is in doubt for round 1 and Ablett's resumption of contact work looks delayed. Doesn't hurt our chances. Looking forward to the training reports, set to kick off with a time trial. -

Roos doesn't have the luxury of settling in the newbies for 2 or 3 years as he did at the swans. We just don't have the depth (correction, we do / will have but the depth is a foreign concept and is emerging). IMO, they'll get games but he won't allow them to be set up as saviours. I'd expect at least Brayshaw to be held back, maybe Petracca and wouldn't be surprised if a rookie bobbed up instead or maybe ANB (if knocking down the door), because none of us is expecting the world from them (unlike Petracca and Brayshaw).

Dunn did something that wasn't in the spirit of the game (or training) to N Jones last year. Jones called him an xxxx dog and was about to go on with it. Dunn didn't go near him after that. Up there for thinking Dunny! -

Grimes steps down as co-captain
Roger Mellie replied to Its Time for Another's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good for you Jack! Probably the most selfless player at the club, along with his former co-captain. Now he can stop worrying about others and concentrate on his own game. -
My team was 2016 not 2015. I'd expect Cross to have a big roll in 2015 again.
-
He'll be there for 2015 but his wayward kicking would need to be sorted beyond that. Maybe he and Garland can scrap for the last spot, but I fully expect Garland to play like we know he can in 2015+

We've got Hunt coming through too - he'd be the fastest on our list.

Agree with Wormburner, That Petraccattack whatever it is, is rubbish. When you look at it all you see is Blur followed by CATTACK Way too close to Geelong - wrong team HH -
