Most of our home games will be against interstate sides again.

Isn't Lever a tall? Why is he part of the equation if Roos doesn't want to draft top end talls? I hear people say he could be the next Bontimpelli but he could also be the next Cale Morton (who also carved it up in his highlights package). Lever is also listed (and supposedly best suited) as a key defender. Didn't we just trade for one of those? I have no problem with drafting Lever but I'm not sure he fits the bill (or Roos' rule for drafting talls).

As far as I understand it, McCartney last the senior players only. The junior players loved him and it's possibly why the young brigade have come on so well. I'd have him at Melbourne. My preference though is for George to get bored in retirement and come to training for a few hours a few times a week.

All in good fun but I must say, I got more of a kick out of Chilli Boy/Nudge. Imagine what he could've trotted out with this trade period!

I would love Maynard to be there. Has been rated in the 20's in some mock drafts and FWIW his father played for Melb (and Fitzroy?) The kid barracks for Melbourne to boot. Pick 20: Greater Western Sydney – Brayden Maynard Position: Forward Height: 186cm, Weight: 88kg, DOB: 20/09/1996 Club: Sandringham Dragons Projected draft range: 20-30 Player comparison: Ryan O’Keefe Brayden Maynard is a slick utility type that does his best work off the packs with an ability to kick on either side of his body. The hard-nosed, balanced midfielder is somebody that is targeted by opposition teams to shut down, given his ability to quickly set up play and importantly stream forward to goal. He’s been utilised in an array of positions: however, he ultimately looms more of a forward type. However, with increased endurance and fitness, he has the potential to make the move into the midfield, whether permanently or as a rotation. Aside from his brilliant goal kicking, Maynard is an aerial specialist with strong hands in a contest, who also marks strongly around the ground. Although he isn’t a polished kick of the ball (operating at just 60 per cent disposal efficiency), he has a terrific base to work with, allowing a club to mould him into any type of role. He has been impressive so far during the Dragons’ finals campaign, featuring in the best on both occasions. Paige Cardona's

GNF - Does Roos like Brayshaw and Lever because Petracca will be taken or he because he just rates them better? Cheers and thanks for the debrief

Happy we got Frost. Had we dealt earlier on him, I wouldn't be surprised if we'd picked up Whiley as part of the deal or got a better pick downgrade, but we were tangled up in other trades and scenarios at the time. Now, I'm excited by pick 2 and 3 (welcome to MFC A Brayshaw and /or C Petracca and/or P McCartin and/or J Lever).

I've made countless often useless observations, but as far as I can tell, unless a contract term is clearly stated in a press release, it seems to always be a 1 year deal. I expect that's the case with Bail, Terlich and Riley.

FMD - was expecting 2 or 3 years tops. Clark's terms are conspicuously absent. I have no desire to wish ill-health or injury on any player but I geez I hope Geelong get bitten on the bum with this.

Try this on for size: Melbourne trades Pick 23 to Adelaide and receive Jarrod Lyons and 31 (or 50?). Melbourne trades 31 to GWS for Frost and 40 (or just 50 to GWS for Frost). -

I wouldn't rate Frost a 2nd rounder. Other than that, all good so far.

AFL involved in Port Adelaide/Essendon Draft Rort

I see where you're coming from and I agree - we definitely should've got Jack Viney for a 4th round pick. -
AFL involved in Port Adelaide/Essendon Draft Rort

Can someone help me out here? It seems the AFL want to throw a free first round draft pick at Essendon to help them out. Let's compare notes: Mitch Clark right royally shafts the MFC after we do everything possible to accommodate him during his bout of depression. The key here is, the MFC do everything right by him in the hope that he regains is mental health and fingers crossed might resume being an out and out gun. Essendon DON'T do the right thing by Ryder (or 33 other suckers for that matter) and he wants out - the AFL are looking to toss them a free first round pick. Have I got this right? Grrrr -
Or not even sweeteners.

The 'Draft Guru' Callum Twomey pronounced it as Petrarkah. Callum would know because he's a draft guru. Hope this helps -

There seems to be an issue with Ben re-signing with Carlton and Freo circling (sauce AFL website). We could trump them without raising a sweat. Should we.......mmm contested possessions... ?

His name sounds familiar - I think he nominated last year but was overlooked?
