  1. "He wish he had known what was actually going on". He is a grub.
  2. When one player said "no I'm not being injected" the others would have been aware of this. Younger plays would have been overwhelmed by the Hird aura, the players should have asked questions.
  3. The technicality is/will be Watson "thought" he was given it. I think your right in saying WADA can ban any player/s found in breach. WADA don't care about our TV rights deal , Lance Armstong found out the hard way and he also never tested positive.
  4. Would be happy with that though I feel they may want pick 9 for Daisy and give us Yarren for Watts. I personally don't want Yarren. Interesting trade period ahead.
  5. Not sure, would have thought restricted if anything.
  6. Hold on, Chappy has size about him, Hawkins is naturally a big boy, Bartell is stocky but all achievable in the gym, Selwood is tough and courageous but by no means big. Scarlett, Harley, Mooney, Ling, Enright, Corey, Taylor, even bloody Ottens to me and I'm no expert but am also no stranger to a gym are average weight for height in terms of an AFL footballers body. Also aren't these substances in question designed to aid in recovery allowing the body to be pushed harder. Essendon aren't a big bodied team in general. In Hirds and Bombers first year together they said (before all this crap broke) we wanted to see how far we could push the players.
  7. Look at Freo, when the opposition has the ball they have 18 taggers in the face of their opponents.
  8. Fair call , Danger had 21 touches and 5 tackles. Every player should at least be able to make 1 tackle a qtr. Regardless we have seen Jordie's best and in my opinion it's not good enough. I'm aware he never gives up and has great endeavour and is probably loved by all at the club, but if we are to move forward we need to make these decisions. Next year I want Jones, Viney and the mid we trade for starting in the guts. Toumpas on a wing and Trengrove on the other. Let our mids play man on man and become accountable.
  9. No he's not. So his job is to shut down players yet could only manage two tackles yesterday. I didn't watch the game but can only assume he ran in circles. Thompson killed us. He couldn't even average 1 tackle a qtr. If your disposal is as poor as his you need to bring something. No attacking mindset, a good tagger hurts teams going the other way, he doesn't/can't do this. I thought the job on Ablett was a combined effort. He's had plenty of chances, he must only be a depth player until his contract runs out.
  10. Your right mate, the other thing that stinks is at the start I thought they said come clean now and we can talk or wait to be caught and have the book thrown at you. At no stage has Hird volunteered anything, all we here is we will answer to any allegations. To me that reeks of "ok they know we took a , b & c but if we if play our cards right they won't find out about d, e & f.
  11. How does Carlton satisfy both us and the Pies?
  12. It's one of those things, Watts whilst showing glimpses has been disappointing. If he asks to be traded to Carlton we will be asking for their first pick. That would be based more on potential. If that was to occur it could be used as part of a deal for Swallow. I'm happy to trade pick 2, may not be for Swallow, depends on the whole deal. I think we should throw massive money at a 22-24 year old mid. Sydney has plenty on the books plus Mitchell and Jack2 coming through. Yes I know it would be near impossible to prize one away but that's why we load up the offer. Mitch is our Buddy/Cloke and his contract is at least half over(did he sign for 3 or 4?) offer Kieren Jack 4 years at 750k a year. Most likely never happen but we should be in a position to do something similar to that because as I keep asking, which players are draining our cap. Lets be bold, in a few years we will have to be conservative with our cap but at the moment lets target some mids and front load them.
  13. Agree mate, but I can't see ASADA/WADA buying into their story. I would have thought in a large organisation even what protein shakes players drink are recorded. I work in construction and failed a drug test, we soon discovered that a pre gym workout drink I had taken shared key ingredients of some party drugs. This triggered off the test. When I contacted the store they told me professional sports people are not permitted to take it. All that for a $70 tub from my local health store. In order for Essendon to see if their program was beneficial, record keeping would be essential. 40 + players x numerous substances.
  14. My bad, I thought I read somewhere he was from Melbourne. It may have been wants to be closer to his brother and I put 2 and 2 together.
  15. Had similar thoughts about Sylvia a couple of years back. We have Hogan coming in and are desperate for mids. If traded yes he will have some good games for his new club but his lack of appetite for contact will always hold him back.
  16. Norm Smiths Curse- I agree with most of your list. You say bottom out for a year, well we can't go much lower. Plus some of the 15 names you've mentioned haven't played much this year. If Watts is determined to go to Carlton if must not be for Yarren. Their first round pick plus a swap of other picks. I'm not banking on a priority pick, I would have no hesitation trading our early picks. 18 clubs makes it all the hader.
