  1. Jamar... Yeah if they take him. We would have to offer around that sort of money to attract one of them, plus with Sylvia and Davey gone we can afford to. There's a handful of players that could be coupledc up with pick 2. Ruckmen came to mind because of Jolly/Longer is homesick.
  2. Let's say that's true, we could offer a 4 year deal to either player at 700k . Trade pick 2 and spencer. Both clubs need a ruckmen.
  3. I think we are being inundated with less than substantial offers. The club is just playing the game as are the others. As previously mentioned if no suitable offers are made we have a pretty good pick in the draft. We need to show faith in the new team.
  4. lets remember UFA have already served ten years and clubs still receive compensation picks for them. Would you rather Scully or Hogan? Morton , Cook, Gysberts and Bate were bad selections. Viney showed last year what can be achieved under a bad system.
  5. Fair call, he's good but he's no Harry Taylor.
  6. You got me, hence the ridiculous nine years.
  7. Mate I had laugh to myself when I read what Carlton is offering Daisy. I know it's all speculative but makes one shake the head.
  8. Please noooooooooooo. If Daisy is worth 700k, Kieren Jack must be around 900k.
  9. wasn't the hawks latest offer around that mark?? They are in a similar boat with Guerra retiring. Hodge, Mitchell and Sewell are getting up around late 20's
  10. Exactly, Or was he encouraged to go in way off a very modest offer which reflected his true worth. Between Sylvia and Davey going I'm guessing that would free up close to 900k. That money can now be used to persuade a mid to join us. Wonder if that crossed Roo's mind.
  11. Your right , who's going to teach the kids to give up when it all becomes too hard . Nasher touched on it before , as a group build your own success. Roo's will get us heading in the right direction by installing discipline, accountability and a never say die attitude into the playing group. Moving to Freo doesn't guarantee him success .
  12. Between Davey and Sylvia we should have close to a mil freed up.
  13. Out of Col's 157 games how many did in put in for 100% of the game, how many games did he say to his teammates this is not good enough we can do better? Our young mids can look to Jones for leadership. You could replace Col's 157 games of experience with someone who has played 50 for the cats, hawks or swans.
  14. Sylvia is a massive talent but to date his career has been a massive disappointment. Moving to Freo won't fix everything, to play Ross Lyon's game plan you have to be switched on 100% of the time not just make the occasional cameo that were used to from Col. I said in an earlier post Chapman for 2 years would be more beneficial for our club than Col for 2. Will be interesting to see how he goes.
  15. big bodied player who has refused to string consecutive worthy performances together throughout his career. Coaches aren't to blame, Viney proved that. Obviously offered a contract reflecting his true worth. I can't wait till he kicks 3 goals against weaker opposition and has 25 touches and people get on here and cry about another player mistreated. Col is a freeloader and as someone has already mentioned he has been part of the problem. Col, sodd off I won't miss you.
  16. I can only hope the club has smartened up and he was only offered what reflects his output. As we know clubs must offer more in order to get players to shift clubs. I don't see this as a loss for us if we use the money and lure a quality mid.
  17. Our club would benefit more over the next two seasons with Chapman than Sylvia. Kinda of says a lot doesn't it.
  18. Crouch would be nice. Haven't the two clubs already had this discussion?
  19. The unreliable AFL trade rumours has Col in WA meeting unnamed club officials.

  21. I wouldn't have called him a full time sniper but the injury he sustained that ended his career was caused by running towards a loose ball on the wing, looking up and seeing an opponent coming at him, then over running the ball to attack the man. This was later confirmed by Grant Thomas on radio, Hamill had told Thomas he regretted his decision.
  22. And while I'm going think back to 2004, Jonathan Brown rushed into an all-in at 3/4 time grabbed someone in a headlock from behind then flung them to the ground and landed on top of them. This incident could have turned out worse than it did. Brown was charged with rough play but got off because play had technically stopped. That sort of crap is for courts off law not independent sporting tribunals. Then a few years later Barry Hall strikes Matt Maguire off the ball and also got off under dubious circumstances.
  23. Kidding, dreaming, thinking out loud. Not sure who did it but I thought I read the AFL commission was presented with reasons why we shouldn't receive a priority pick. Then they should also be presented with a case against Sydney. As supporters of the game we can cop the Suns and Giants getting allowances in its many forms but timeframes must apply. Two flags in recent years to the Swans says it all.
  24. - yes it's good to see GWS get beaten but who is their next target?- scary thing is Hawks have 1.1mil spare in their cap - as previously stated hopefully this forces out some of their mids - clubs won't die, Geelongs module has still been the most successful of recent times
  25. Removing Sydney's salary cap concessions would have to be done over 2-3 years, it can't be done feasibly in one season. The AFL needs to act.
