When Do We Find Out About the Priority Pick?
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Grimseyisgod's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm in the camp of not getting a pick this year. After 2014 if we are still as bad then yes give us a pick. I'm aware of all the arguments to why we should get one but I'm also aware that people believe Watts is still suffering mentally from his QB debut. Some people seem to think that by Roos accepting the coaching job that we suddenly have the best culture of any club in the AFL. Yes receiving a pick would help in a small way but it's not the saviour some think it will be. Even with Roos coaching picking up gun players with out picks is not guaranteed. The players on our list need to harden up and cut the crap looking for excuses all the time. Other teams have shown what is possible this year, Port's sudden rise and Freo have had in jury's to key players all year. Pick or no pick, on Saturday night Freo raised the bar. If clubs don't come to play with a similar mindset they are wasting their time. Something we have been doing for years. -
Football Buffoons on Melbourne Radio
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Mongrel Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
How did he ever become chief football writer? His insight to the game offers nothing that I can't see for myself. -

I'm with you mate, I think they're quite funny. On the other hand the footy show has been deteriorating for the last couple of years. I also love their call of the game. -
Next domino to fall in Roos' quest for talent
Bombay Airconditioning replied to TGR's topic in Melbourne Demons
To hard to guess so ill sit and wait. Both this weeks games will be crackers, so I'll be entertained plus I get to laugh at the Bombers....again. -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
As Dees2014 has ready mentioned, all clubs/players including NRL were told come clean at the start of the year and cop six months or play your games of upstairs-downstairs, still get caught and cop the fist. -

Don't think they can mate, WADA didn't blink stripping Armstrong of his medals. Names mean nothing, the integrity of all sports is paramount. -

Don't quote me but i heard it must be served during the competition. Where is six months coming from, for me guilty = 2 years on the sidelines. Hird is a Grub. -
I don't think many people forget that at all but as u mentioned in my previous post we need to fix our own culture issues/problems first before we take on new ones.
-
I must of missed something, we still have arguably the worst culture. How can it not be, it hasn't just magically changed because he took the job. How many speeches has Roos given the playing group as a whole? I'm guessing none. It's going to take time. There is a big difference in bringing someone like Martin into a club with an established and one like ours where the whole club is getting overhauled. I'm glad Roos will have a senior assistant because with all these people that will need his attention he won't have much time left for coaching.

How about Chris Dawes for Captain
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dawes has shown leadership in the games he played for us this year but if there is to be a change it must go to Jones. He's been busting his arse since arriving. -
We went for Toumpas last year , as you have said.... Time to add more grunt.

Potential Forward Line 2014
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Vanilla Gorilla's topic in Melbourne Demons
In a perfect world he will recover fully then stay and play for less as his current 4 year contract has set him up bloody nicelely. -
This is purely a guess but Mitch would be on more. I don't think he's worth that much. If are serious lets offer Kieran Jack 700k when he is out of contract. Proven big game players. I know we need mids but we need to be better than this. We need to aim to be a club where players stay/come to for less. I have already said that Roos hasn't built the culture yet, lets target 4qtr players.
-
Don't want him, would rather spend money elsewhere. Roos hasn't built the culture yet.

What happens when the ball hits the ground? -
My tigers mate thinks he has been approached by the hawks. Buddy leaving frees up the dollars, Hodge, Mitchell and Sewell all pushing 30.

He is going to the Hawks. Lock it in.

MFC's Virgin Australia Film Festival Video
Bombay Airconditioning replied to PartyTimeJohnny's topic in Melbourne Demons
As you say "the pure joy in his laugh" as we'll as his excitement when running out onto the field with Jack. Watching Sam read his letter, I can't begin to imagine what he would feel like asking for help just so his son had something nice on his birthday. As for the club, they could have easily bundled up some stuff and post if to Adelaide, what they did was bloody awesome. -

I've watched it four times today and its rolled me every time. I think too many people myself included take too much for granted. -
I don't agree, being a good player/great leader doesn't guarantee he will be a great tactician.

Jack Watts Sunday Footy Show
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demon_Tingles's topic in Melbourne Demons
How much is he worth? He is on the verge of breaking out. Or has he been overpaid already? -
They must maintain a top 8 and not go to a final 10 scenario. I actually thought 18 teams would spread the talent pool too thin. But the competition is evening out nicely.

Some "Wines" mature early!
Bombay Airconditioning replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
I get your point but I actually meant lets revisit the Wines/Toumpas comparison in 2-3 years. I was using the the Watts/Nik Nat as an example. Although Watts has to work on certain aspects of his game and we are all aware of what they are, he is slowly closing the gap on Natanui. -

Bombay Airconditioning replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
After watching the replay will Wines think he should off shot the handball out rather than take on the pack? I'm not p##sing on Wines as I said I think he will be a great player. He's only 18, Port has had a amazing year and set the bar for themselves.
