Have to be honest, I always thought the girls would hold the cup before our men did. The Dees ladies don't need to improve by much to win the flag this season. Harris will certainly be a welcome addition if she can play at her best.

Lever was the first name i thought of. Second was McDonald.

Disagree with Cornes. The Bulldogs had a problem with taller defenders and have picked up 192cm defender Tim Obrien from Hawthorn. A very good move that will make their defence better than it was.

Won't we all be beside ourselves if it's correct? Thanks adonski.

Wow, thanks for that. I can't believe what I am seeing right now. Premierships, superstar players developing before our eyes, AND not looking to go back to their home states (Yes, I'm looking at you Scott Thompson and Jeff Farmer) I could get used to the new Melbourne.

Player of the finals series P.F Version
faultydet replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's out of an advertisement. What is a blinder? Google ad I think. -
They had a point to prove after all of the other prelim beltings also, but all they resulted in was more points to prove. Their window is over.

That's the only proof needed that she is not in fact your wife.

If you look at other Footy sites, it was obvious that almost the entire footy world wanted us to win, and celebrated as such. No need to be anything but happy and humble.

Yeah Adelaide, your first rounder or we send him into the pre season draft! 🤪

faulty mildly approves of this signing although I'm unsure as to why. *golf clap*

For me it was easily Olivers goal. That was the moment I knew we would win the flag. I could watch it on loop until the day I die.

Could be a handy player once he hits his prime.

He'd be looking at our list, in particular the delisted players and licking his lips at the possibility that we now have reduced midfield depth, and as a result, a mature player now has a greater chance of playing a role with a flag contender.
-
List management is above most people. Look at Collingwood and Gold Coast as examples. Consider how hard it would be for our recruiters and list management team if we offloaded all of our fringe players at the same time. We then need to trade (we dont have the picks) or draft to replace all of those numbers on the list. We are then left with a big bunch of 18 year olds who are taken with late picks, who we then need to give 2 year deals to. And of course, zero depth if we suddenly have a run of injuries. As much as I am not a fan of Melks lack of pressure, it will not kill us to keep him (and Hibbo) on for another year as backup. edit: That first line is not a crack at you. It's merely a statement that even the pros can't get it right at times.

I used to drink at a bar in the Philippines that was well "served" by street touts. One particularly annoying half-wit sold hot peanuts in addition to odd items such as bird noise makers and tasers. I once told him I would buy a large bag of peanuts if he let me hit him with a shot of a taser. Looking forward to making it back when borders open because his peanuts were delicious!

How Simon Goodwin inspired the Demons to a Flag

If he gets us up to go back to back, particularly after this season and the celebrations that are still to come for the playing group, he will quite rightly be recognised as one of our best ever coaches. What a turnaround. -

When did the tears start watching the grand final?
faultydet replied to Cassiew's topic in Melbourne Demons
To be honest, this was the exact point of the game when I knew for certain that the GoDoggies were not coming back. Was sure I'd fall apart and start the waterworks but I couldnt stop laughing at the screen. I guess I just couldn't process that it was actually happening. My wife was EPIC. Shouting her tiny little face off at almost every play. Her understanding of the game is amazing for someone who had never seen a picture of Australia until 6 years back. She thought it was over as soon as Clarry put it through in the 3rd. Olivah....[censored] yeah! We Gunna win! She is one of the lucky ones who have seen a flag in the first 1/4 of her life. -
Be proud to wear your Melbourne gear!

THAT, right there is as good a feeling as when the final siren went. Superior to Collingwood. A reason to get out of bed every morning. -
Carlton to get on the 'selfless' bandwagon

When did the tears start watching the grand final?
faultydet replied to Cassiew's topic in Melbourne Demons
I didn't. I expected to be a sobbing mess, but couldn't have squeezed out a tear if I wanted to. I remember sitting there during the presentation thinking, "this does not feel the way I thought it would" May have something to do with what I thought was a horrendous commentary team. Just awful. Ive been a bit lemony watching the young fella in the Demon Diaries. He is a real fan with heart on sleeve. And the hair stood up when listening to Dennis Cometti and the boys. Their call was magnificent. -
I must be the only one who thought the call of "bang, bang, bang" was garbage. The entire broadcast failed to match the excitement of the game itself. I thought they were a terrible combination. BT is horrific.
