You're dreaming mate. How many times in the last half dozen years, have we seen a reason to "fire up"? And how many of those opportunities were rewarded by insipid performances? We are in for another hiding this week, because we are MFC, and we dont respond to adversity, we crumble, and fall. Good luck for Mitch, but im far more worried about my football team than i am about him. Hope that doesnt offend anyone.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAYDEN HUNT

What are you like at photoshop Rob? Any chance of putting him in a Metallica T Shirt? Reckon his melon looks a bit like Beavis -
Am i the only one who thought his agility was lacking? He seemed to know how to get the ball while running in a straight line, but in traffic, he looked a little heavy in the feet, to become an A grader. Maybe i dont see enough on the telly? Thats probably it.

Good call Ralphius. I agree with that. Never thought I would feel that way after a 16 goal loss, but there you go. I hope Neeld stays, and is given a chance with an improved midfield list.

Chris Dawes was magnificent today. I dont recall him ever playing with that aggression when he was with collingwood An inspired pickup, if he can continue that form. Well done today Chris, fantastic LEADERS effort

An insider's POV - Comments from Russell Robertson
faultydet replied to deanox's topic in Melbourne Demons
Did you consider that some of the people that have "supposedly" stayed and bought in, are actually on the clear out list, and are only there because it was impractical to move them on last year? I think the job that Neeld and co have is bigger than anyone possibly imagined. Our culture has been a disgrace for decades, and its not something that can be fixed in 2 seasons. I disagree with some of the player trades/drafts, but they didnt look so bad at the time. The difficult part for the club is supporter pressure. The insiders at the club might have been well aware that we faced another really bad year, but may have taken the decision to have a crack at it anyway, in an effort to bring us up to first world standards as far as culture goes. A continuation of massive losses will make it harder and harder for the club administrators to allow the season to go on without change. I for one, hope like hell that we can have some credible performances soon, in order to give Neeld and co the breathing space they need to implement the changes we so desperately need to make. Remember, they were tasked with completely reinventing the worst football culture in aussie rules football. That is never going to happen without considerable pain. Yes, i understand the "we have been waiting 7 years" argument. I actually prefer the "we have been waiting since '64" argument. The things our players consider to be normal activity, ie: dont run/spread/harass/shepherd/gut run etc, need to be coached out for eternity. Please Dees, give your coaching staff the time, to bring in the changes we so desperately need. -
I think a 5 goal loss to an improved Port will have our shoulders hunched like they have been for the last 5 yrs or so. Cant expect a win, even against unfancied opposition, with so many new faces. It will take time. And who is giving odds abouit Wines getting the rising star nod against us in round 1? We had a disgusting habit last year, of having rising star nominations against us. Edit: god i hate ipads......

NAB CHALLENGE: GOLD COAST SUNS v MELBOURNE
faultydet replied to Gorgoroth's topic in Melbourne Demons
Reckon if we keep practicing like this, we might have the fadeout down pat by the time round 1 rolls around, and be able to maintain it for 4 quarters. -

I know its not nice to come on and bag posters, especially when you are not a regular, but if you are giving comments, PLEASE give scores. This site can be infuriating for remote viewers, who are more interested in score and player updates, than comments that add nothing to our knowledge of the game. Sorry for being pushy, but some comments given during games are just pointless. "Jamar!" ""What a kick by Blease" etc etc. Please remember that some of us are completely blind/deaf to the game, and our entire view of the game is what you guys type. I guess im more referring to televised or radio games, but please give scores whenever possible. Many thanks in advance, and i hope i havent offended anyone faulty -
We lack in every key area. Give us some midfielders god Please.

Getting a little tired of this sort of comment. Ok, so we lost every game this year, and some by a handsome margin, but at least the tackle count was level. Jesus christ, when will the pain end?? Perfect practice makes perfect? Cue excuses for Heat/fatigue/games played/players missing/etc etc I cared about the score today. Glad I did.

Thanks very much from those of us overseas who have no access other than whats on here. This site is normally hopeless for scores, so thanks for reversing the trend.

Parking around Gosch's Paddock, Mitch Clark and other misc bickering
faultydet replied to DeeZee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Driving past Bubbledome, then past Gosh's Paddock and through the traffic lights (swan st?) Immediately through the lights on your left, is a coin-pay carpark. Literally 75m through the lights, on your left. Or you can park under the bridge for free, but its a 2 hr limit. -
Training - Monday 11th February, 2013
faultydet replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I can see him as the Go-To man across half back, but have doubts about his ability to defend tall against the high ball. Just wont attack an aerial contest in the required fashion. Brilliant distribution skills by foot, but needs to be fed the ball by others, or read and intercept Rivers style. -

He was kicking on the run at Friday training, and looked like Daniel Rich compared to Spencers efforts. He really is a very good kick, and has excellent skills for a giraffe. On the subject of giraffes, i swear Fitzpatrick is only 150cm tall to the base of his neck. Damn its a long neck.... -
Lots of pics from training posted in the training thread on Ology...
-
I agree. I dont care reading similar things each session, as long as they are really happening.
-
I posted a heap of pics on Ology if anyone is interested. Thanks to Ding for making some of them readable, after my inept camera settings.....
-
he said, "I didnt go, is this what happened?" He was clearly taking the pizz, cant you see that?
-
He was ridiculing the poster above him.

Ding and I were there today. He is cropping some pics before we post them on 'Ology Gawn doing run throughs at a fair pace in the rehab group, that also contained Trenners, Tapscott. Dawes stayed behind with them after the others left to head back to Bubbledome, to put their running shoes on. We both fell in man-love with Player number 1, wow does he have great size for a 17 year old, and he moves so well. I was surprised by his pace off the mark, and agility Viney looks like he has been there for years, and was constantly throwing himself under a pack. Smart money for rising star. Ding made the comment that Dawes looks like an "outsider", but I didnt notice that. Toumpas doesnt like the sun, and trained in a MFC cap. Was being tagged by Dunn in the match simulation. The first match sim was just ball movement, spread, and kicking to the spread. No defensive pressure as such. It then progressed to physical pressure, although I would expect to see them go harder come rd1. The talk/encouragement was fantastic, and at a level that I have never seen at a training session before. A few of the boys called for Blease, when he headed to the tent after warmup, instead of participating in the rest of training. He was pointing to his lower right leg, and received a number of rubdowns in the tent, but didnt seem too worried about it. We spent more time looking through the lense, than at the play, and cant tell you much, but if you have a question, shoot. faulty

hmm. I dont think too many here have forgotten how she carried on. Will be interesting to see what she writes if we have no case to answer. Im hoping she will do the noble thing, and discover self immolation, like that monk did.
