Keep the faith ... faint hope is what sustains us. Talls look well stocked: Clark, Hogan, Frawley, Dawes, T McDonald, Gawn, Jack Fitzpatrick We need more mids and a crumbing forward. Only recruit those described as "tough". Class of 2013 - Luke Dunstan, Cavarra, Dominic Sheed, Ben Lennon.
-
Most improved - Col Garland & Luke Tapscott Backwards - Tom McDonald & Jack Trengove Surprise packet - Matt Jones & Michael Evans

agreed ... all were wasted picks. Swap for 3 youngsters who would walk over glass for a game

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
spirit of norm smith replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dear Mark Neeld. Don't stuff up like your predecessor. Sign blokes who want to be at MFC. Give Billy Stretch as much support as we can. -
Best stat is "points for" (and 2nd most important ... points against).
-
Sam Blease needs 3-4 weeks at Casey. Agree play him on the wing OR fwd pocket and he must kick goals. He shows some brilliance. Was drafted on the back of some flashy play like Strauss. One of BP's mysteries.

Who Do you want at MFC..& Why
spirit of norm smith replied to Red N Blue Society's topic in Melbourne Demons
one man ... Chris Judd. He would have made a difference. -
if we get within 8 goals ... I'm also accepting this.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
spirit of norm smith replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sign Billy Stretch ... he wants to play for MFC. Good enough for me. Remember Dylan Grimes. MFC Bailey missed him when he desparately wanted to play with his brother. And Alwyn Davey. MFC Bailey said he was too short. -
Must get a legit crumbing forward this free agency period

Blease, or rookie pick Page from Casey. -
targets more likely are Jed Lamb (Swans), Luke Russell (Suns) or Cameron Sutcliffe (Freo). All good young quality mids on the fringe at their clubs.

Out - Jetta (susp), Viney (rest/quad), Clark (ankle). In- Strauss, Mackenzie, Kent. FB: Garland, Frawley, Terlich HB: Strauss, McDonald, Grimes C: Howe, McKenzie, Bail HF: Trengove, Pedersen, Tapscott FF: Gawn, Watts, Byrnes FOLL: Jamar, Sylvia, N. Jones INT: Davey, Evans, M. Jones SUB: Kent EMERG: Blease, Spencer (again), Rodan. Blease and Rodan to travel with squad Need to matchup on Rockliff, Black, Moloney, Rich, Redden in midfield. This is where they can beat us. Jones will be tagged by Andrew raines. We will need Trengove and Grimes must standup. Howe and Sylvia can win it for us. Watts forward - highly unlikely given Neeld has stuffed around with JW as a loose unaccountable HBF Who gets J Brown? T Macd Who gets Merrett? Frawley Who is accountable for Pearce Hanley's run from half back (he killed us in 2012) ...Matt Jones is my man.

The difference between a pick #4 & pick #48
spirit of norm smith replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes Jimmy T got a game when not quite ready. Give Dean Kent and Jimmy Toumpas at least 4-6 weeks in Casey to get tuned in. They will be good but don't rush them. -
Yes agree it was a good highlight. Sylvia has the talent, no question. His application is to improve. He would be a star in any of the top 8 teams. We must keep him. I would be really p*&ss$5ed off if he went out via Free Agency (free to the club who gets them).

Agreed. Jonesy was a key to lifting the boys today, Heart as big as Pharlap.

1. Liam Jurrah - mark of the year 2. Jeremy Howe - mark of the year 3. the hype - Jack Watts, Tom Scully, Mitch Clark 4. smashed Sydney Swans by 90 points at the MCG. (2 years later, they are premiers) 5. smashed the Bombers 6. Jack Viney on board
-
Nathan Jones Jack Viney Jesse Hogan Jimmy Toumpas Mitch Clark Jack Grimes Jack Trengove James Frawley Jeremy Howe Tom McDonald Colin Sylvia Chris Dawes Max Gawn Dean Kent Matt Jones Luke Tapscott Jack Watts Josh Tynan Sam Blease James Strauss Rory Taggert add a good coach, positive entertaining footy add 3-4 more young guns add some leadership

the worst of 2007-13 the passing of the late and great man Jimmy Stynes, and ... 1- "tanking" allegations 2- "danking" allegations 3- demise of Liam Jurrah ... superstar gone missing 4- defection of Tom Scully 5- thumping defeat by 186 points by Geelong 2011 6- insipid draftees - Cale Morton(4), Lucas Cook, Addam Maric, Jordan Gysberts (Jack Watts, James Strauss, Sam Blease on notice) 7- thumping defeat by 148 points by Essendon 2013 8- loss of Brent Moloney, Jared Rivers, Brock McLean (they knew we were shizzen) 9- sacking of loyal captain James McDonald (what the ...) 10- watching Scott Thompson become a superstar, Darren Jolly become a premier ruckman in the AFL, and Chris Judd (a boyhood Demon supporter) saying no way to MFC overtures.

time for a cleanout ... from the top

Hopefully he is the white knight ...

1. Dank has released texts and now MFC looks like liars and cheats 2. MFC lied in statement from 5-Feb. He had links and we denied any involvement. Poor choice. God thing Schwab has gone. Others must follow. 3. Dan Bates must be sacked. Poor choice and should have come clean post the Bombers conference. He should have said "Yes. MFC had used bt belived all approved". I run a business. Have a family. Make many many decisions. MFC are a shocking basketcase. I love footy. I love MFc. But they (the people at the club) are very disappointing. Dankers & Tankers. Bruise Free footy. Worse AFL Team ever. (I cannot argue right now). ((((
