  1. I am a broken man. I had hope for 2013 as a year that we saw a push back with Mitch Clar, & Dawes as a formidable fwd line, Jack Viney on board, Jimmy T and the development of plenty of others. Well not to be I am a shattered MFC member. But I need to push for the glimmer of light ahead ... Steps 1. retain Peter Jackson as CEO for 2014 (as AFL required) 2. sign up Mark "Choco" Williams as senior coach. Remove all assistants on board right now, and keep Todd Viney as a development coach alone. 3. Delist around 8-9 players. Each spot on the list will be precious and we need to choose wisely. 4. 2013 trade and national draft. Essential, vital, crucial. Jesse Hogan - elevated #2 James Aish #3 (AFL Priority) Dominic Sheed #20 Nathan Freeman #38 Zak Jones #56 Nathan Drummond all modern day types. Tough and good pace. My only 3 players from other clubs to realistically pursue. - Levi Greenwood (Kangas) 24. tough, inside mid. good ballwinner. Seems out of favour at Kangas. PSD#2 for me . a must get for me. - Jordan Schroder (Cats) 21 tough. unable to break into Cats midfield but would settle at MFC and is Selwood like in attack on the footy. $$ and contract would attract. - Daniel Cross. Yes he's 30 but all class and would help our midfield compete. A new home would refresh and a promise of a fair go. 5. a good draw in 2014 for MCG homes games. The AFL needs to give us home games agst Collingwood (Queens Birthday), Carlton, Essendon and Richmond as 50,000 strong attendances to help our coffers. Games agst Giants, Dockers, Power etc at MCG would be avoided. And no homes games at Etihad. 6. Game style - intense. play on. Entertain. Scoring the focus. Hope with a structure.
  2. Jimmy Toumpas needs to be back at Casey and brought on with a view to 2014. Give him a break from the destruction of MFC 1sts right now. (posted for the 4 th consecutive week !!)
  3. AFL should allocate a 17yo Mini-draft choice for the Demons. Clem Smith is a gun 17yo from WA and the Eagles would be super keen. Pick 9 for him would be a good result all round.
  4. Choco Williams as coach ... I HOPE SO. Dustin Martin in red and blue in 2014 - zero % likely
  5. "I watch teams like North Melbourne and many others who at least give their heart and soul to supporters. The MFC list are the complete opposite." agree. All the coaching panel must go. I can see about 12 blokes again being delisted. They are no desperate or intense for AFL footy.
  6. Ins:Garland, Terlich, Taggert (sub), Strauss. Outs: Clisby , Toumpas, Kent, Tapscott
  7. This kid will be a STAR. He must be in Red & Blue in 2014.
  8. To be Delisted (x8) MacDonald Bail Spencer Jetta Davis … or Dunn Sellar … or Gillies Rodan … or Davey Nicholson trade Keep 1 more year (on the edge)… Byrnes, Strauss, Taggert, Tynan, Dunn, Davey, Gillies, Tapscott. Ins (+8): Mitch Hallahan (trade from Hawks) 4 youngsters in draft ... 2, 20, 21 (AFL priority pick), 40. All mids. 3 recycled (of…) Matt Thomas, Daniel Cross, Todd Banfield, Travis Lockyer, Jarryd Lyons, Anthony Miles. Clisby - keep on rookie list New Rookies - FB and Ruck backups
  9. 1 GWS James Aish 2 MEL Dominic Sheed 3 WB Tom Boyd 4 STK Luke Dunstan 5 SUNS Matt Crouch 6 BRIS Matt Scharenberg 7 WC Josh Kelly 8 KANGAS Luke McDonald * 9 Port Luke Billings 10 Carl Marco Bontempelli Sheed fits all Melbourne's requirements... a leader, skilled, tough, ballwinner, inside mid, good pace, tackles hard, smart. Has STAR potential.
  10. Zak Jones has football ability no doubt. Either a 2nd or 3rd round choice. sure not a midfield star but would be a great HBF in the same vein as Brandon Ellis. Tough, hard working and can go fwd to kick goals.
  11. agree... Aish is like Ebert in SA,and the go home factor would be strong. He has all class but is an outside player for me. Prefer Matt Crouch.
  12. Jimmy should have a spell for a few weeks. Back to Casey to get possies, and the winning feeling again.
  13. Hogan is my one salvation for 2013. He gives me "Hope". From watching us versus the kangas, I had very little left from that group of 22.
  14. "At the moment, there isn't anyone on the market worthy of pick 2". Agree 100%. I would take Dominic Sheed right now as pick 2. I have been super impressed, and shows real STAR power.

  16. Clem Smith will be a STAR. I hope the AFL says "MFC" have access to the best player in 17y bracket not eligible for the draft. ie. either select or trade away for a pick in this draft. Eagles would jump at Smith and offer say pick 9. HMMM.
  17. Clem Smith will be a STAR. I hope the AFL says "MFC" have access to the best player in 17y bracket not eligible for the draft. ie. either select or trade away for a pick in this draft. Eagles would jump at Smith and offer say pick 9. HMMM.
  18. Rookie selection IMO.
  19. Forget this rubbish about Cale Morton. DOM SHEED IS A SERIOUSLY VERY GOOD PLAYER. Watch him play. He wins the footy, he is tough. Has good speed. He takes on the game. Loves a goal. Tackles. Clean hands. Ticks all the boxes. And a good leader.
  20. Josh Kelly is almost a mirror of Tom Scully. Will be a good player because of his skills and ability to run & run. But he is slight and does not possess ability to get the hard contested footy. More like a pick 5-6 for the Saints. We need a Dunstan or Sheed, as a tough ballwinner.
  21. Zak Jones can seriously play. Its a YES from me. 3rd round pick - pick #40 ish. He has good build, run and would be a creative, tough, half back that we lack. Jonesy brother would be a good acquisition.
  22. We had our chance to grab Rory Sloane as a youngster, interviewed him, almost promised a spot if he was available at our pick 35. Then we picked Jamie Bennell (recruiting gaff # 17...F%$#&). Sloane went to Adelaide and his family was extremely disappointed. He is good but not worth a pick 2 trade.
  23. rubbish thread Mitch Clark still is not even 50% fit for a comeback we need Chris Dawes Dawes is a true leader - trade? you are mad 25, size, strength, contested mark, goalkicker, gives 100% No chance Chris Dawes will be traded shut down this thread !!!!!!!!!!!!!! non constructive. non likely
  24. 25. Its a YES from me. 3rd round pick - pick #40 ish. He has good build, run and would be a creative, tough, half back that we lack. Jonesy brother would be a good acquisition.
